Cardinal Red?

I am thinking about getting a gts went in to the dealer thinking selenite or white. They have a Cardinal red with the saddle brown in the showroom that absolutely amazed me! I have never owned a red car always black, grey, white. Never even thought about red, but it just looks so good. What does everyone think? Is it going to be tough to get rid of in a couple of years if I decide to try and sell it? Pretty decent deal I think too, 6% off msrp and a strong trade in on my G 63...tough decision.

Cardinal is an awesome color......and with that saddle brown, (my fav) seems like you can't go wrong.....is the car loaded up?
I had a Guards Red Targa once......it was badass!

Options are:
Lane tracking package
Pano roof
Chrome trim
Carbon sills
Carbon engine cover
High end audio
Gloss carbon interior
Forged black cross spoke wheels
Indoor car cover

Is there anything that isn't included that would be desirable?

An option that is a must is the performance exhaust but I don't know whether it comes as standard.

What I would pick extra

Dynamic plus packages ( sick alcanatara steering wheels )

Alcanatara roof liner

Btw the cardinal red is a very nice aggressive color

The performance exhaust is a standard option in the US for the GT S.

I have seen an SL550 in Cardinal red and think it looks great. A bit more subtle and elegant looking than other brighter reds like Torch or Fire Engine red.

I have a Cardinal Red SL550 and it has taken me a while to warm up to the color, not completely there but getting closer.

You should really see the car in bright sunlight, it has an orange hue which really takes away from the red and to be kind, has a unique appearance that takes a while to get use to. At night, overcast and shade, no issue and I find the color very elegant, yet aggressive.

Why did we get the car, long story but we wanted a very unique interior combination, which it had and the alternative was another black/black or silver/black car which we did not want and because the car is leased and about as loaded as a SL can get we decided to pull the trigger, color and all.

Great idea of getting it outside in the sunlight. One of my main concerns is that I'll get tired of it then I won't be able to sell it because of the color. I know a couple guys who got the sakhir orange M5 and had a really hard time selling them, whereas my black M5 sold no problem. There is a used edition 1 for sale also with 1400 miles on it but it's listed for almost the same price as the new Cardinal red is. Decisions decisions...

I personally think Cardinal Red is not bold enough... I'm used to Guards Red with several Porsche Turbos or the MBZ equivalent of Mars red.

As for the car and options- I'm not sure about the chrome trim on this car along with the black wheels. The GTS is an aggressive car and the chrome brings a more "fancy" like view to it... Again my opinion here.

And you are correct about the resale--- its a hit or miss color so you will need that unique buyer once it comes to dumping it. The safe colors IMHO are white, black, gray on this car.

^ right black wheels and chrome exterior accent do not go together IMO.
You would want a night package with your black wheels or have the silver ones.
I haven't seen a cardinal red in person yet but red is definitely not my color. To each their own!

Ya I think the chrome throws it off a little. It is a sporty car and the red/saddle is very nice, but maybe just not for this car. I'm going to order I think. Thanks for all the input! It was nice to see that this dealer is somewhat aggressive on pricing. Compared to another local dealer it was a $25k difference between the trade and new car purchase. Crazy!!
