Mercedes-AMG GT R possibly Limited to 2000 production units
Mercedes-AMG GT R targets exclusivity with only 2000 production units
Has a top speed of 197 mph.
The Mercedes-AMG GT R recently debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed but fans of the high-performance model better act quick as the company will reportedly limit production to ensure exclusively.
According to Autocar, Mercedes officials recently hinted production could be limited to 2,000 units. Nothing is official at this point but the company said it believes the GT Rs will spend most their time on the track despite being road-legal.
Billed as a road-going version of the AMG GT3 race car, the AMG GT R has an aggressive front fascia with an AMG Panamericana grille which recalls the one used on the Mercedes 300 SL that won the Panamericana road race in 1952. The car has also been equipped with a front splitter, carbon fiber front fenders, and active aerodynamic components. Buyers will also find a carbon fiber roof, a sporty rear diffuser, and a center-mounted exhaust.
Power is provided by a biturbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 585 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed AMG SpeedShift dual-clutch transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds before hitting a top speed of 197 mph.
I have one on order as well. Love the car and as I have mentioned no issues to date just putting Km's on it as a daily driver ... these cars are meant to be driven !
