A gaggle of MB's
Interesting thread...

If you want to be driving the GTS - then by all means go for it.

Interesting thread... if I read/interpret most of the comments are not from "heavy-metal-guys"... and you are heavy-metal.

If the "demo" will be CPO'd ... that is a plus ...because it confirms CPO is OK with Mercedes ... if not possible to CPO then non-CPO is a big-trigger-bad - certain pre-production cars/PT-1/PT-2 cars are not allowed CPO because of their use - other PT-1/PT-2 cars ARE allowed CPO because of their use. CPO is a ++.

CPO inspection "should" catch everything mechanical - but does not catch cosmetic.

The GTS ceramic brakes should not be even close to replacement - as some earlier post mentioned - CPO will settle that for sure.

On a lease... get the PrePaid Maintenance to cover your costs there over 2yrs - dirt cheap..

Get wheel/tire to cover you both on both road flats (for tire replacement) and cover you for scraped/damaged wheels. If you get a scuff on your GT wheel (which is a combo of brushed and matte finish) wheel/tire will cover up-to/including replacement of the wheel if cosmetic repair to factory spec is not possible (which for GT wheels it isn't). Replaced $12K of driver side wheels last week for a customer who scraped his at his country club parking lot..

Personally - I am not a fan of that color - since one of my early Porsche's
was a "similar" color - I have a SLS customer - similar color - and great looking color on the raod...

For the GTS - 30 mo will be 30 mo - pull ahead at that level is not a normal thing.

Yes - leases on heavy metal are hefty - but on heavy metal on a lease you have 30 mo walk away into something else - and 30 mo into a purchase plan you will have had to throw 30% or more of purchase price (or more) at the front end of the finance note to make it a walk away 2 1/2 yrs down the road.

Have fun with it - keep the beat !

Id pass on that car, too many miles and clearly you will be much worse than 25k upside down once you acquire it. So you are robbing Peter to rob Paul here and your first loss is your best loss = S63 (I speak economics only not car passion). The yellow is another tough pill to swallow as its novelty will wear off and it carries very light demand in the trade in market. Remember that the 176k msrp has about 12% in it from sticker to triple net so it was a dealer cost car at 155k brand new. Now its a brass hat car with a ton of miles and you are sucking up the residual adjustment for miles too (8k is way too much of a hit on a non titled demonstrator).

As much as you want that car, I have to tell you its not a smart economic move. Leasing 101; whats the gross cap cost of the GTS including your trade rolled in? Always work the cash price of the car, lease or buy first instead of payment.

IMO the payments on a similarly optioned car with 8,000 miles would need to be much, much lower for this to make sense.
True but he's upside down over $25K and he wants to dump the S63.

So your net cap pre cap reduction is 164k? (adding back the 25k from the S63)... That SB Yellow car is maybe a 115k wholesale unit max max with those miles and color. I just don't want you to be in that car and then want to get out in a year and be 50k wrong.

Wow. Large numbers for sure.

The reality is that there are not a lot of cars that could "hold" the 25k and still cap it under MSRP.

The combo of price, rate and the 25k make this one of worst deals I have seen. ...

30 months, 12k Miles, $2900 per month, and zero drive off.
That's absurd lol. I don't know how your dealer is arriving at these numbers.

The dealer told me they got the car from Mercedes North America for $135,000. It was never sold to anyone but driven by an Mercedes North America executive. The cap cost before the $26,000 negative on my S63 is $139,000. Idunno if this is BS but they said they cant lease a used car through Mercedes Financial only finance. But since this car was technically never sold or registered then MBFS can lease this car. Is that true?

They are lying to you, they paid 128700 for that car But this was pre recon and other work, if any.

FYI they can lease it because its a brasshat car (untitled unit). You are taking a residual hit adjustment for the miles (I think its 25 cents a mile or even more on the GTS) and then your term is shorter so the depreciation is higher along with that momentous money factor. Add in the 26k neg equity and it is just not a good deal IMHO.

C63 507 AMG DA Car #19
Make sure its not a prior ada car.

Check window sticker for deliver to cota or another ada track.
Look for ghost images of ada racing stickers in the paint.

I was told my 507 was an executive car and it turned out to be ada.

Good luck.

That's a bombshell indeed. Good advice. May I ask what happened with your car and how you found out?

Ordered AMG GLE 63 S Coupe
"Executive" car is usually code for track car. High probability that it was used at the AMG Driving Academy. That means there was no engine break in time but just super hard driving from the start. Being **** about my cars, I would stay far away from that type of deal. Btw, I discovered this when I was at the Jaguar R Driving Academy and someone asked the driving instructor what happens to these cars after the driving academy. The instructor responded off the record that they are sold as "executive" cars by the dealerships.
