GTS/GTR tidbits

GTR Grill

This grill is of historical significance - found first in the famous 1952 300 SL that won the Carrera Panamericana.

Mark King's famous # 18 was dressed in green.

This grill will be developed to become an AMG icon and will also be part of a he next GT/GTS mid series refresh.

Expect annual production of about 2000 worldwide, with 50% coming to the USA.

Suspension on the GTR IS considerably stiffer than GTS. C setting on GTR = Sport + on GTS.

Sound is also considerably louder and raspier in Sport/Race mode.

GTR suspension C setting is like Sport + on GTS? Ouch! That would be a hard setting to be the "softest" on a daily driver. Driving periodically on a race track is something different. All the race tracks I've raced on have been almost perfectly smooth. City streets? Almost never!

Yes, and that is why I am taking a pass. I am keeping this car at our DC home. DC has the worst roads with more potholes than you can imagine. If I like it or not I have to use the C setting whilst driving in town.

I think the GTR is absolutely fabulous but given the local facts and living in the middle of town, I just can't see myself doing this.

The name is Karl Kling not Mark King - sorry about the "senior moment"
