Why should I go for AMG versus 911 GTS

Though I have made up my mind to go for the AMG GT, I am coming from 5 good 911 experiences. Would love to hear your feedback why moving to AMG GT is the right call

Having deeply contemplated both and at the risk of repeating, here are my thoughts:

I'd have to get into a "turbo" to get the torque I'm used to on street and turned off by huge $$.
911s while extremely well engineered, don't have any identity. They are simply everywhere and I suspect that's why guys spring for orange, green, purple lol. Just not my thing.

I'm not tracking the car.

The v-8 sound and great interior.

Like you, I have had many great years driving a 911. My last was a Turbo 911 which I enjoyed very much.

The truth is that I simply got tired to always drive the same car and I wanted something that was radically different but still provided the thrill of driving.

I always disagreed with the marketing folks desire to compare to Porsche.
It is not about better or worse - it is about -- different!

I very much love driving my GTS and I am thrilled about my decision, however, it does not take anything away from a great experience I had with Porsche.

Good luck!

The AMG GT-S will run circles around a Porsche GTS plain and simple no comparison when on the topic of all around performance. The GT-S is also a more comfortable car with a slight more roomy cockpit. The only advantage I see with the Porsche cockpit is that the seats can be reclined more due to the back seat as where the AMG seats don't recline for than a few degrees. The Porsche GTS will cost you a little less money on comparably equipped cars too. You need to look at a Turbo, Turbo S or GT3 if you want performance that will best the AMG.

Having come out of a 991TTS, the AMG GTS gives me a more special feel. Speed wise, the TTS is a beast.
