If this car's msrp is close to 200 there won't be a long line, if any, to purchase one.

We got HAMMERED over the weekend down here in Jacksonville, FL by hurricane Mathew. So, the dealership here was closed or I'll bet they would have sent this DOG to me right away.

Thanks to you I'm going to have some fun and send it to them

This one does say prelim so the schedule for late next month may produce th final version along with the pricing finals ordering and delivery schedules.

The car will be a 2018 for sure so early to mid April US deliveries I would guess.

Regards

Hope everyone is doing ok down their. I dealt with two major floods while living in upstate NY so I know how bad it is.

Sounds like your well informed and I think your info is very accurate.

My dealer has solid deposits for two cars, but isn't sure how many allocations they will get.

I think it is wishful thinking for a $170K base price but I do strongly feel that it is the right price for what it is.
If I had to put money on it, I would write $189K on my betting slip.
There is enough wealth and unsavvy buyers out there that MB will probably sell them at MRSP with a short production run.
Personally if I were in the market for a car at that price point, the 570S or GT becomes the winner over the GT-R if the focus is a true driver's car or a 911TTS if focus is comfortable daily driving

My money says Msrp will start in the 170+ range. We should know by next month.

and its a 2000 car limited production only as they announced.

so price will be a bit higher than expected. 200-220k

why not wait for the BS version. as every year they are introducing a new line of it.

as claimed they will make 5 versions ( 4 are out now GT, GTS, GTR, GTC, probably the last will be GTBS !!)

I've heard from a few sources that the R is the new name for the black series. It looks like it might be true. As far as 5 variants of the GT you forgot the roadsters.

roadster = GTC as convertible !!

maybe its true that R is the new Black Series badging !!

however, in every BS car, they had wider arches in all their cars.

new R doesn't seem that way !!

I think they are using Audi style in performance same as S6 , RS6, etc.

Wrong the black series will be around 200k. Even Tobias said the GTR will not be that much more than standard gts. He hinted at 30-35k more.

Black series is a different story, probably 198k base going up to 220k fully loaded.

Remember that GTC and GTR are virtually identical mechanically and body wise and GTC is around 153k. So 165k is much more realistic number base. Optioned out it will go up to about 175-180k ish but not the base number.

I am having to go in on Monday to finalize all the details on the order and dealership confirmed I have the first in the Texas, Summer delivery is the first batch (July ish 2017 as 2018 model).

However, a lot of options will not be available on the first batch so I honestly may give up the allocation to get exactly the car I want (Black Nights package on exterior & interior and that is only available on 2nd batch or later). There are a few other options I want specifically that will not be available up front.

Getting exactly the RIGHT car is way more important to me than getting the very first one as I am not getting this to dump it quickly, this one is a keeper for me. Also Benz is being super strict about not dumping the car. Customers that try will be blacklisted from future special editions they said. Also a strict 12 month no export policy, you will for sure be black listed as well

I am worried that the GTR will be a rough ride though. Since its "comfort mode" will have its suspension equivalent to the Sport+ on my GTS - I think it'll be too rough for most driving. More like a track car that you can drive on really good roads off the track - but I fear a big and constant bouncy "ouch" on most city streets considering how most streets and highways are maintained.

I agree on options and interior colors being very limited. I would wait as well to get exact car.

What's with that weird ivory interior in DOG?

GTC doesn't have 9 traction mode, or the moving front grill and parts for high speed !!

GTR also has the rear wheels (axle) turn the opposite on lower speeds to help for cornering better.

there a lot of specific things that GTC does not have, and the dealer already here announced the price and all details for GTR

however, there are some changes for US spec same as other AMGs before ( ie. SL65 BS, US spec didn't had CF doors) and other things.

so that's why US spec cars delayed a bit for some changes.

GCC and Euro specs are the same.

My understanding is that GTC will have rear steering, but no active aero and traction control.

What is base price there?

220k -280k

depends on options.

usually it costs here about 25%-30% more than US

so in US deduct 25% from the price.

I think your base price assessment is near spot on at $160-$165k

I too am having a delimma with the very sparse options in the initial DOG.

I am trying to get the dealer to obtain more information before the order cutoff on 10/25 but not having much luck yet.

Waiting for the next batch ordering release could be awhile.

I'm sure it will be somewhat less liveable for everyday driving then the GTS. Probably on par with the stiffness of a GT3.

If you can get this beast-get it! I'm on two dealers list for this car, but I think the car is going to be limited and difficult to get.
