I love it on the new S class. Isn't the GTS a top line model? Where's this option?

 

X2. It would have been a great option but I think this was taken out for the sake of saving weight (just my 2 cents).
I just receive my GT yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised that even if I did not order Distronic, I have parking sensors all around and it beeps at me when I get too close.

the surround cameras on my range rover have prevented this many times, not so much my GTS

with the long hood i can never tell how close i am with the front right rim

I almost always find a way to back into a spot so I have the right mirror to follow my rear wheel along with the b/u cam to keep me safe from rear objects. I guess it all depends on where one lives and their parking situation but I see your point.

 

Ditto. I back in whenever possible. Plus I bought the wheel and tire package. Actually it was a "gimme" and I have used it to redo my two right wheels. Turned them into brand new - from curb rash victims.
