Winter tires for GTS?
Hello everyone,
My GL63 has me enthralled with AMG products and so now I'm going to jump into a 2016 GTS.
I would like to get winter tires to I can drive it year round. Obviously, I wouldn't drive it in deep snow, but love the improved handling of snow tires in cold weather.
The sales dept has told me there are no winter tires available for the rear. Has anyone found anything that works?
Thanks!

Not sure why they lied to you. Up here in the great white north Mercedes sells winter wheels and tires. I personally purchased 2 days ago a set of Pirelli Winter Sottozero Series2 winter 270's in the factory 19/20 sizes. Michelin also makes a rear in stock sizes in the Alpin Pa4 with a slightly narrower 255 width front tire as well. The Pirelli's are actually branded as Mercedes recommended

I have a square setup with 19" Pirelli Sottozero255/40/19 tires. I was originally going to keep the original wheels but tire options are quite limited. Pirellihad run out of snow tires when I bought them in the OEM size. Additionally, the aftermarket wheels makes the transition super easy and the package was not too expensive. The wheels are fairly inexpensive - DragRacing - that are able to clear the massive GTS brakes and look decent. They are easy to clean in regards to salt and brake dust. Traction was incredible. This is my only car and my daily driver. I drove it through the Chicago winter without a problem. Obviously I was not driving super aggressively in poor conditions.

Winter wheels
With the front offset at 61 and rear at 68 the best I could find in a rep was 45 and it worked for the rear but stuck out too much in the front. I got a deal of a lifetime on a factory set of 19/20 wheels so I went that way.

I'd appreciate any help. I couldn't find "Dragracing" wheels. To many things come up on google. L(
Totally stoked with the car otherwise. I'm in Rhode Island, and we've had some days over freezing, so I've been able to cruise around in the batmobile. Soooo much cooler than the 911 I traded away for the GTS.
Cheers!

Congrats on the car! Sorry for the late reply. I was out of town. The wheel is called dragracing DR 48 with 19 inch wheels. If you don't have a discount tire near you, they can be ordered online from discount tire direct according to my rep. They're not the fanciest wheels in the world, but they certainly do the job and are easy to keep clean.

Thanks! It's snowing now and I timed out. I ended up getting Pirelli Sottozero Serie II tires in sizes matching the stock wheels. I spent 2 1/2 hours this morning watching tire guys at Firestone point at my tires, point at the machine, point at my tires, etc. They finally did it.
I had to get N=Porsche tires in front because that's what was left. That meant two separate orders from tirerack. They wouldn't send N tires and normal tires in the same order. I think there is 1 Sottozero Winter Serie II 265/35/19 left in the USA, and Pirelli isn't sending more. One person is allowed to get a flat.

Went with same set up with Drag wheels and bought 255/40/19 SottoZeros used. One important point here is the tire size. With these wheels, if we went with the 265/35/19, the front wheels may rub. Side note, they stopped making these wheels to get ready for SEMA. Thanks again.

Does size matter?
I live in the Chicago area and have a 2018 AMG GT on order. It should arrive in February. For the winter, I found Pirelli tires and Zito wheels that should work. I went with the factory sizes for the 19/20 tires and wheels 19x9/20x11. Are there any issues going with the factory sizes for the winter? I spoke to a supercar wholesaler and he suggested that at a minimum, I should have gone with more narrow tires for the winter. Thoughts? I thought that I should be fine by matching.

I checked again with my dealership and they agreed that while you can go with a different setup, going with OEM sizes for winter should be fine. One of the other challenges I had was finding wheels that fit. Evidently the calipers are pretty big on the GT and not all wheels can clear them. I originally ordered Savini BM12s that were listed as ok for the GT. Once I placed my order, I got a fitment call from them stating that the 19 fronts would not work. They said that I would need to do a 20/20 setup. I did not want to do this, plus I had already received the 19/20 Pirelli Sottozeros. So that order was cancelled. Fortunately, I saw Zito Wheels on this forum. Not only do they state that the ZF03s fit, but I saw several photos of the actual wheel on the GT, and I spoke directly to the distributor as well. The price was reasonable.
