Laser blockers Are way forward. There are 2 brands, that's where I would go. There's detection and then PREVENTION. Don't spend money with rear.
Your going to need that with the GT R. I'm excited for you big guy. Did you mention your color/options?

I have NO experience with Laser Blockers so your experience will be valued.
As far as the GTR colors--super secret only the NSA, CIA, FBI, RUSSIA, WIKILEAKS, GOOGLE and AMAZON know for sure.

So customer service claims that the mirror tap will work, however they do not have a blendmount product.... who's going to be the first to try this out? LOL

Some other solutions have been run from a dedicated circuit on the fuse box. The wire is then fished up the windshield piller and frame over to the mirror area.

Are you saying there something unique about the Mercedes rearview mirror that is not the same with all the other cars they are compatible with?
On a sidenote, a long time ago I did a hack/install directly into the bulb socket of the overhead light… I suppose that's always an option

I am betting that there is a place to tap into under that mirror and other electronics cover but I'll let the pros do it. Cheap at any price.

I'm not planning to keep the radar detector plugged in when I leave the car for any lengthy periods of time, so maybe it's less of an issue. I believe you can also check with the voltmeter in terms of what is on or off with the ignition .
Another option might be to run a wire (Perhaps in the A pillar) down to the fuse box, does anyone know where that's located?

Yea, I ended up having an installer do it. He ran hard wire from the battery in the trunk all the way up to the rearview mirror, where we just dropped a short power cable. Took a good hour of labor.

Ive watched plenty of talk on porsche sites about radar and laser. I find that the only laser jammer worth putting money into is the ALP, none other does anything until after the laser has hit you and read your speed.
the most successful radars is the passport max 360 ot IX models.

V1 is still strong contender. While it doesn't have all the fancy features like GPS lockouts (which can be done with the bluetooth adapter and Yavvy 1), it still has incredible range and situational awareness via the arrows.

Yes. The arrows are hugely useful, especially for false alerts. After a while you can tell whether something is randomly not a real signal just from what direction it's coming from.
I've been holding off doing blockers for awhile, so I watch here with interest.

The false signals are almost eliminated.
There are supporting Apple Apps that are good too.
V1Connection, Stealth Assist and Waze of course.
FWIW: I have a brand new, never used, still in the box unit that is completely up to date software wise. I'll sell it for $100 off the current V1 price.
I'm thinking about going lazer with my new ride.
Best Regards

I've been a V1 user for almost 18 years. I love toys, and have been reading a LOT of good reviews on the new Uniden R3... so, I pulled the trigger... and let me tell you... it's night and day different.... and dare I say... much better.
Other than the lack of arrows this thing absolutely smokes the V1 in distance. Google for reviews - this thing is a beast.
Anyone want to buy my latest model V1 with V1connect (bluetooth adapter) and a remote display which has been modded by full color defense?
