Exclamation Must Have's in GT?

Just curious as currently looking to spec one for March delivery:

- Pano roof? (thinking no)
- Exhaust (thinking yes)
- Nappa interior (I guess better than fake leather?)
- Adaptive suspension (yes)
- Regular Bur stereo
- Keyless (silly this is option)
- Performance steering wheel

Few other minor goodies (red seat belts). Shame you cannot make calipers red on regular GT.

I'm 6feet 205lbs and interior is a little tight. The Pano really opens up the space IMO.
Exhaust is an absolute must.

Upgrade the interior, you'll be staring at it every time you drive.

I will second the pano roof. It really bring the sunshine inside and make the interior appear bigger.
I agree with all your other pics. The upgraded interior is not a must but I am an alcantara fan and it just looks amazing and make the interior so much more special.
Depending if you like chrome or not, the night package should be on your list as well and the lane tracking package is a big help as well against the blind spot and parking.

as a long time porsche and mercedes owner, I never had the sport exhaust on any car. I think its an absolute waste. It has no performance advantage. it just makes more noise. For the cost of this system you can buy a better or real exhaust system for the car and have free flow exhaust, a real HP maker, and have better sound, all the time
aside from that and the CF brakes, I get every option on a car

Great feedback gents. Interesting feedback on pano. Question, does it have a sliding cover for pano (like S550)?

Lol, I bet your a real party guy.

AMG reallly got it right. The aural experience of this V8 as opposed to other engines I've had in past is worth the admission.

Guess I'll try and hear both, but for $1800 bucks seems like something good for resale as well.

Yes, you would limit a lot of buyers. Hearing this engine crack through gears and then rev match on downshifts is a must. I really don't need to look at tach as well because of the feedback.

I love the Pano roof, big selling point for the GT, (not available on most others, and black top looks great)

Curious to know the difference between the AMG sport exhaust (on the GT) and the AMGnperformance exhaust (GTS)

And I notice the GTS a come with LiIon battery, but not showing on the GT ?

The Pano roof gives a feeling of spaciousness. Upgrade the stereo. The stock stereo with the GT I suspect is crap. Adding package 810 for $1,300 gives the same sound system as the GTS. Of course you want package U78 - the Performance exhaust. The sound is stellar. When at the AMG driving school a fellow I met there told me that AMG has 6 or 7 audio engineers that do nothing but tune the exhaust sound. That's it! In the past 3 days I've been accosted 4 times in parking lots by people who love the look of the car, the sound and want to talk about it.

I would get the upgraded interior. As AMG GT17 said - you will be staring at it every time you drive. And yes, get the lane tracking package. Big safety feature. Of course I am partial to the Chrome package - but I have brilliant blue paint and it really tricks out the color. Not so with other colors.

Exhaust, suspension, and 20"s to cover the dynamics.

Rest is down to aesthetics and luxury, for which everyone has their own reconciliation threshold

I didn't want the Pano roof, but ended up with one and I'm now very happy to have it - particularly with the black car.

If you haven't ordered, I don't know how you can get a build done by March. There is a 3 month build period as I understand it, but your build commencement date may be in February or March. I pulled trigger an existing 2017 closest to my specs for this reason.

Dealer has a changeable allocation for Mar/Apr delivery. Waiting to see if he can get GTR allocation. GT's are not hard to get, plenty out there, so not too worried.

Cool, so I guess that means that they have one in the queue. What color are you looking at or is that already locked in?

I have a really stripped GT. I only have black forged wheels (love them), pano (don't care), black Napa (meh), adaptive suspension (I think this is a must have unless you're driving on perfect roads)

If you can swing it I would get one of the burneister systems. I have the stock radio and it's not that great. I miss the better stereos of my past AMGs.

I kind of miss not having performance exhaust but really I miss RACE MODE! To get this I think you have to buy a GTS. Think about it. When you buy a GT, like I did, you're not getting the extra hp or access to the most aggressive map of the engine and trans. I had race mode on my c63s and that map made the car twice as fun as sport plus.

So the most important option may just be the GTS. Don't shoot me.

Fair point--may consider a S. I won't keep car more than 9 months probably, but might be worth it.

A tune can cost effectively address the engine mapping limitation. After that, I guess the GTs miss out on launch control if you are into drag racing from stop lights or on track.
