The GTR will be running these in a 325/30 config on a 20 x 12" wheel.

At the last Laguna Seca AMG driving school it was all Continental tires. They are sponsoring. Every car was shod with Contis and all replacement tires were same.

Definitely would wait for PS4 on 20s.

Lip will be wider as well. "Our premium touch finish provides a dark velvet effect on the external sidewall, while a deep rim protector guards against light wheel damage."

JUST AN OBSERVATION---- Over the last few days, this thread has been a very enjoyable, educational exchange between ADULTS without the annoyance and interference from children that love to stur the pot.

Gentlemen, I have to add that my GTS came with Conti's and they are horrible in any weather. I had conti's on my E550 and same situation. Conti's on my 996TT same situation and almost immediately got flat spotted. To give an idea of how bad Conti's have been for me, I swapped out Conti's on my DB9 for General Exclaim's and maybe it's a placebo effect but the Generals are far better.

To the original question though, is there anyone out there that can attest to any 20's and 21 set up in any combination or brand? Meaning a fully functional set up as the originals but with a little more aggression and vanity. Please look at all the pics on the web. I don't think any are showing a true side view of the wheel and tire combination. Please, I am begging someone to prove me wrong and show me. I also guarantee that those that are truly running a 12inchish wheel width in the rear are running those wide fender flares. If you are running those flares then you can roll the wheel wells and run those 325's or bigger. Please, I am sincerely asking. I sent back my wheels today and to give you guys an idea of the added expense outside the wheels themselves, think of this. $250 for an alignment, $350 for the springs, $150 for TPMS and $1450 for Michelin tires that didn't work and let's not forget the labor to mount, dismount the tires and the labor for springs, another $700 and I will probably re-install the factory springs again, another at least $400. Aside from cost it was a lot of work. Do the math all together and it's like Swan said...... teachable moment. I guess it's in my nature, I just can't leave good alone. Again, I will say, the enemy of good is better.

A lot of bad leprechauns there.

I will bet Emeric gets it right. I know he's going 12/325 in back. Maybe next week. Stay tuned.

OKBARNETT, I think ultimately the thing is that the GT3 was designed for a 20" wheel so that side gives up a little side wall but is a little widr than stock. tiresize.com has an excellent calculator. I havent looked it up but that is what I am thinking off the top of my head.

I found the gt3 has 20x9 , and have 265/30, You usually find 8, 8.5 , 9 wheels on the front of almost every car. so if you have 9.5 my guess was that you would need 275/30
And for common SL cars with 9.5 rears they have 275 and 285 tires always.
Having a 9.5 is tough. It makes the tire size so big. You always pick the tire size that will fit on the car first, then get the wheel size you need.

That makes sense. I think there has also been a ton more research on Porsche's. Guess the price of vanity is a little more for a first model run like the GTS. Just for kicks, I might actually purchase a much more affordable set of wheels in stock size and offset. Like to see how they look and function.

Thats not OEM... My OEM car had 245x35x20 fronts and 305x35x20 rears. The wheels are 20x9 and 20x12 and the tire options at the time in 2015 were Pilot Sport Cup or Dunlap Sport Maxx.

different yrs must have different size or if different tire mfg must switch to different sizes. The one I saw may have had new tires, who knows. May have only found the wrong size. but they had 20x9.
16 says 245/35 and 305/30, RS 265/35 and 325/30
15 says 245/35 and 305/30

I decided to go with 20s in back due to the lack of tire choice and going PS4 all around.
Not sure of the offset but the wheel size recommended was 20x12 with 305/30/20.

Correct, the GT3RS gets the bigger front at 265 and rear 325 (the rear is a 21 inch wheel).

315 is too wide for an 11 and you will have tire "overhang" and flex. Listen to @okbarnett
Thanks Vic, i figured a 305 would fit comfortably. I'll probably move on to a 305 in the rear and eliminate the need for spacers in the rear + benefit from the added traction.

I have brand new Pzeros in 20/21. I mean they're not anywhere as good as Michelin in terms of road noise and (from what I've heard) long term wear and heavy rain. However, the dry grip feels pretty damn close.

If you plan to do track days, bear in mind the handling balance will have changed; the car will push noticeably [understeer]. To a certain extent, you can adjust that with air pressures, but not completely. In short, the car will lap more slowly.
