This and that.
What a great thread. While starting from a real low of a member trying to make money totally opposite to the spirit of a car forum, to other members stepping up and providing a solution for rest of us. Very great.

I see the module above that I will likely be ordering once I figure out what kind of a big fixed spoiler I'd like to get. But I was just curious if there is a DIY write-up somewhere that shows how to install the module?

There are 2 cables coming from the chassis to the original spoiler. Disconnect these and plug them into the bypass device. Simple and straight forward.

This is a good video showing a rear wing swap, It includes the electric motor connector that the module connects to, and how to do the connector removal and disconnects. It doesn't include the module itself, but helps with the disassembly process.

Hi Ronac,

I've been having an absolute nightmare going from garage to garage trying to get rid of the error message 'manually disengage spoiler' when I lower speed. If you can still make me one of these, I can't tell you how grateful I would be.

Best,

Steve

Hi Ronac
A bit more advice if possible as Mercedes are not being super helpful the guy that fitted the fix spoiler in the first place did not do a great job and he cut off both male plugs that go into your module, do you know where I can get these with attached wires so can just shoulder to the existing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure why anyone would just cut the plugs off.... Regardless, that's the situation you're in now.

What you can do is solder, crimp or splice into the module instead with your cut wire ends. You can follow the images from previous posts to determine which wire goes into which location.

Hi Ronac

I really appreciate you getting back to me once again. I have been looking back through the thread and unfortunately I can't find which wires to go into which points in the module I don't know if you have anything? But a fantastic idea to splice or shoulder if I can just find some kind of diagram......anyone???

If you look at smith787's post (#133), his image shows which color wire goes to which spot in the connector.

Hi Ronac

This site needs more people like yourself helping people like me and it very appreciated, yes I did see that post but unfortunately can't quite make out what wire goes where as it's a sign view and it looks like on one of the connectors there are two grey wires going into it hard to distinguish which would go where.......ahhh frustrating

This and that.
Will be placing an order for these shortly. Planning on ordering the full carbon kit over winter and will need to make the wing fixed before installing the spoiler. @ronac Have you had an opportunity to do a write up on the install process or a video tutorial showing the install?

The install is pretty straight forward. I'll just summarize it here:

- pop the trunk
- use a non marring interior pry tool to pop the cover off the pull handle
- remove the two torx screws hidden by the cover
- use a non marring interior pry tool to remove the interior trunk panel
- disconnect the two electrical connectors to fully remove the interior trunk panel

Those steps will expose the nuts to remove the spoiler. At this point, you can disconnect the electrical connector and plug in the spoiler delete module. You'll want to remove the two hoses that connect to the spoiler base. Plug up those two hoses. Remove all the nuts to free the spoiler to be removed. Install your new wing.

So now we may need to open it back up to reinstall the wing motor to trick it out of the error. Any other ideas?
Kind of a necro post but I hate you so much for how awesome that car looks.
