Spoiler Alert... ranks the AMG GTR as #4 in the top 5. Boo!

Ahead of the Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 but behind the McLaren 570S Track Pack, Ferrari 488 GTB and the Porsche 911 GT3.

Practicality a 911 is better! Try putting golf clubs in a 911. Not as engaging as a gt3 but you wouldn't know it the GT-S is faster than a 488. Overall the contradiction make this a crap article.

Yeah, they just can't get past how good the car was as it somehow didn't fit their mold, yet the give expletives about every aspect of the car.

Wait until real lap numbers come and see if they can then refute the matter. It'll be fun to watch.

I think there is simply a long ongoing love affair with the 911 in the english-speaking press.

Reason I say this is that the Germans Mags have a more pragmatic view on Porsches; it's not all glorious and not everyone thinks their steering is the best.

What is interesting is that the Germans look at the GTR very different than the GTS. For them, and when put to the test, the GTR is simply an utterly competent street-legal race car and burns up anything that's not on slicks.
The GTS is considered a cool, luxurious and emotional sports car that is competent but lacks bite...

Latest rounds of tests beat the Corvette Z06 (Z07 package) on the track and won a comparo against the Audi R8 FSI Quattro Plus, NSX.

They also seem to have no issues comparing it to the GT3 RS.

I just can't stand the green color

I can't stand that Porsches look all the same from the front, and very similar from the back except the GT3 with it's oversized butt ugly wing. For the untrained eye, a Boxster looks the same as a 911R. A GT/S always looks special.

QUOTE: If you’re looking for the outright focus of, say, a Porsche 911 GT3, or the brutal feedback of a Nissan GT-R Nismo, you’ll not find it.

Yes, the GT R is harder than a regular GT, but the additional kicks come from the angrier looks, the lashings of Alcantara and the splendid noise.
Then you take it on a circuit and have quite a nice time but get the impression that the GT R is trying perhaps a bit too hard to make you look good and impress you with the sound and the go.
The stopwatch doesn’t lie, though, and it says the GT R is, in fact, the real deal. With that all in mind the AMG GT R takes fourth spot in our top five ahead of the Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 but lagging behind the McLaren 570S Track Pack, Ferrari 488 GTB and the formidable Porsche 911 GT3.

Yeah, sounds about right, Still a beast though. Its sad that most GT, GTS and GTR owners will never see a road course and experience the true capabilities of the car, but will argue about track times. SMH
