Strut Braces replaced

Strut Braces replaced
At about 500 miles, heard a distinct underhood 'thunk' of what I guessed to be either a bad shock or engine mount. Only noticeable (and quite obvious) while entering uneven driveways at low speed.
Dealer diagnosed as: LI62.30-P-061211. "Strut braces cracking and popping". Replaced uppers and retorqued both lowers. Black-colored struts replaced with shiney aluminum and different part #'s (190-620-87(88)-01. Also inspected for the legit recall, tranny seal leak but all is well on that one.
Apparently this strut issue is pretty common. Anything else to keep a watch for?

According to my dealer, this is the third vehicle they've seen this with problem and if it weren't for the fact that it isn't a safety issue (interesting), it would rate as recall-worthy.

The strut defect is unmistakable and repeatable. Loud like a hammer tap to the frame. Sounds similar to a loose upper shock mount. Located close to the firewall. Not visible from under the hood. 2-3 hours labor to replace both sides.

Do a search, many of us that bought the cars in 2015 had this problem. My Ed 1 was a May 2015 purchase and came with this front end pop. It was fixed over a year ago.
