In for Service A

Dropped off my GTS today for standard service "A" my dealer recommended I get it done even though the car only has only 6000 miles and not 10k,
because I've had it for over a year. I Drive the car everyday it's nice weather out and haven't had any problems at all "knock on wood". I also told him
if there are any software updates not to do it either he indicated there weren't any, I wasn't sure if there was anything else recommended other than to keep driving the car !!

Happy 4th to all be safe !! ...Dr. G

I had my A1 done at 1 year after the in service date and my B1 at 2 years after in service date. I'm not getting stuck in the middle of the finger pointing game and being told that my car had a problem because I wasn't up to date on service...even though it's a load of BS.

why is it better not to do a software update? Are some people reporting power loss or some other issue?

My guess, he has a tune. I have one and decline software updates. To my knowledge, I have all the current updates

My Ed 1 is two years old with 1500 miles and the dash is telling me I'm scheduled for the 'B' service imminently. May do that before the tune just to be most current....or at least confirm none are due.

Reduce Oil Message

Car back from Service A all checked a-ok however after driving a bit after the oil change a reduce oil message can on. I checked the oil via the did stick it is right on the max line so My guess is as the oil heats up it hits the sensor and triggers it. Should I be concerned and get oil siphoned out or let it burn down any one experience this after a dealer oil change?

Yes, siphon it out
this seems to be a pretty common problem, the oil level needs to ride just at the half way mark to keep the light off.

This happened to me also after service A. the service manager said it was not a big deal, but the next time I came in for something like my regular car wash to let him have it and they will siphon a little bit off. I did and I haven't seen the message since.

Same thing happened to me after oil change, took it back and they removed a tiny bit. Apparently it's very sensitive measurement

Glad to know I wasn't alone here and also not a major thing, as always the dealer was very responsive and took care me right away even got a car wash while I waited had the excess oil removed and problum solved. The mechanic informed me he thought the problem was the oil guns are not calibrated properly for the amount of oil the GTS needs as the tolerance with the gun to sensors are very sensitive to the levels of oil top and bottom. who knew

Don't let them wash it! They use crappy rags in back. I let them wash my wheels

My SA was very aware of how sensitive sensor was as she claimed the warming of the oil after change expands oil level about a 1/8 of an inch on stick.

Ha agree I have the Matte Silver paint, I definitely was afraid of the rags they use on that stupid brawny roll lame. One of the car porters there is a really nice guy I befriended and (I suppose tip well) or better the zero as most I think. I bring my own microfiber towels and thy let him hand wash the car he does a great job !!
I know what I get there opposed to some of the local car washes that higher younger kids that don't understand a nice paint job and or how to care for it.
