Well there's that, but also I can't find a dealer willing to let me test drive any of these cars. I get it, I wouldn't want to plop down $200,000 for a car that had been used as a demo. They want to keep these cars with no miles on 'em.

the other option is there is a place that has all these exotics for rent. But it's like $1800/day. And if I'm interested 5 cars, that's gonna come to $10,000. Just to test drive the cars I'm interested in. I don't like that.

So, the track day thing seems my only options. I know it's not the street. But I'll take what I can get.

I see you live in SF, that would rule out the Huracan for me unless you were sticking to weekend trips to Napa, ocean driving along PCH and open roads in the East Bay. It will be a complete PITA in and around the city.
Yeah, that's my main use-case at the moment. Mostly to get OUT of the city so I can cruise around the PCH, open roads, maybe go to the track once or twice a year, and so on. I have no desire to drive IN the city, so to speak. But it still must be done since I do live in the heart of SF. Can't get out of the city without going through it.

Cool, looking forward to your feedback on the trackday experience.

Yes, my GTS had 25 miles on the odometer when I took delivery. Wouldn't want some punk kid bouncing off the rev limiter and doing launches before I took delivery.

My dealership let me take a Huracan home over the weekend when they first came out.

Be careful not to become completely enamoured by the intoxicating sound and the looks and stares and don't disregard the need to stick your head out the window when changing lanes or making a turn, the inability to see anything behind you through the Transparent Engine Bonnet, the crap rear view camera, slammed front splitter that scrapes even with the lift activated, etc.

Navigating the hills and narrow lanes in the city will be stressful.

The latest news are, all the 2018 GT’s are stuck at the port waiting for certification, and they might never be certified who knows! They’re all at the port waiting for a new ECU FLASH.

Everyone knows about the Volkswagen Scandal and what they did to the ECU https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volk...ssions_scandal

Yes, I know the GT’s aren’t on Diesel but I feel as though somehow this is related to the Volkswagen scandal because they are waiting at the port waiting for a new flash of ECU, I hope there will be a press release soon that comes out with the real detailed explanation to what happened exactly to the GT’s, sooner or later the truth will come out.

This is NOT normal for the vehicle to be held till now waiting for certification!!

Not sure you understand the situation with your non informative triple Posel. 18 GT has been selling since spring. GTR and GTC are being released as of Oct 3.

FWIW: MB has advised that All GTR, GTC AND E63S were released on 10/3 for shipment to the dealers. All paperwork is approved so the cars will go through dealer PDI’s and be ready for customer delivery late this week and/or early next.

Hopefully this is just part of all the misguided information coming out and these cars will be delivered very shortly

Vic:

He forgot to mention it BUT kjkj’s frustration is directed at Canada not the US.

Just reached out to my GTA (Canada) dealer to confirm this and the response I got was:

"we have no info in that regards. I would not take that to heart as its usually a salesperson assuming he knows what is going on. I will communicate to you any news I receive on the vehicle be assured of this."

It is frustrating knowing your car is just sitting there, but ultimately, based on info at the time I ordered, I wasn't expecting my GT C to be built until September and delivered to me until late October / early November (so I wasn't expecting to drive it until Spring 2018 either way), so I don't see what there is to be upset about at this time. I just hope that if it goes into snow season, they're covered or kept indoors in Halifax.
