I did a remap with one company that seems to have bought the new maps from another European company and so, they were not really experts in what was going on with remap.
A few things happened:
1 - the cruise control was deactivated. ( probably torque calculations went out of ranges and eventually it did interfere )
Do Renntech remap suffer from this problem? In an AMG GT will I have any disabled functionality?
2 - The sound became different..the increased turbo pressure made the sound slightly different..less enjoyable ( in terms of sound ). also it crackles a lot less.Seems that exhaust gases are now being more used to build up turbos instead of crackling...
3 - the worse and really annoying problem was the turbo lag.
Now you can notice that the torque builds until 2.100Rpms, and below 2.300 the car becomes less fun to drive...it also seems to me more a kind of On/Off throttle behavior that I do hate!!
Is there any way for these tunes to be done progressively so that the turbo pressure will only increase linearly ( compared to stock ) with increasing rpms and you instead of the remap try to set all turbo pressure at all time?
I have turbo lag and it seems that the original AMG map took a lot of time and work to make it relatively similar to NA cars, from low to high revs...Adding extra power is good, but adding turbo lag is really bad

In terms of map quality I much prefer the one from AMG clearly.by miles..Of course I like to feel the extra power...but done in the same way or programming strategy AMG did use..
Is it possible?
Long live the SLS engine..the best car I have ever had!!! A remarkable piece of engineering and that engine...Love it!!
comparing the 6.2 NA engine with this new turbo engine..I can clearly say that in terms of driving pleasure..6.2 all the time. It may be unfair to compare the SLS with the C63 S, but the C63S engine is clearly a level below the class and crispiness of the SLS engine..marvelous....the tune over the SLS, makes it amazingly better..the tune in my C63 S turbo..kind of ruined it, even if it did add more power...
