Remaining '17 stock lease numbers

Hey all,

Currently all but decided on picking up a GT-S and have been shopping leases. First dealer I went to gave me the following numbers on a 145k MSRP: 13k off sticker, 36 months 7500 miles per year with maintenance included 2404/month plus 9200 out of pocket up front 55% residual and .00240 MF which seems oddly high considering I have stellar credit but they have yet to pull my reports so might just be a rough estimate from them. I'm curious if these numbers are any good? This is just a baseline before any negotiation so please do keep that in mind. Thank you in advance for the help!

There is heavy depreciation in the first year. You get to pay for that!

The numbers are average to high given the 2018s are out

AMG leases are always terrible but as residuals go, the AMG GT's are quite high. Even the MY17 have standard MF rates. That number can be negotiated down as it's a retail rate, autopay will reduce it also as will MSD's. The AMG GT residual is a point higher btw. If you are only getting $13k off, I would shop for MY18' as well. Btw, the AMG GTR has the lowest residual (3 year at 46%)

I always purchase my vehicles but I would pass on your lease proposition.

I got 8% off MSRP on my 2018 GTS which recently came out so your discount is mediocre. You basically have 1 year built in depreciation as soon as you drive the 2017 off the lot.

The 55% 3 year residual is poor, competitive leases from other manufacturers offer 60-65% residual with your low mileage restrictions.

Finally, the money factor is crap for Tier 1 credit.

Agree residuals are crap against other manufacturers but good against other AMG’s

I agree. That is a good MF for AMG. I am in the market now and have been asking around between A1 and Tier1 and 24 isn't bad at all. Could be special deals with MF for 17s.

That's interesting that the GTR has the lowest residual, considering it is marketed as the most coveted iteration.

100% true, if anyone can grab mid 50's residuals on AMG's its strong. And in reality if we compare the Big 3 (Audi, BMW, and Benz) residuals, only BMW pushes their 36 month terms into the 60's. Audi trashes their own RS level cars and even some S cars. FYI the new E63S is at 58 for 36 months (7500 miles per year) which is shocking for AMG. But the V12's all take a crap and are in the low 40's. MBUSA doesnt want to be caught losing their butt at the auctions on these.

Lessors makes money on residuals- the interest factor is an add on for a non commodity car. The majority of the mass produced Benzes have subvented lease rates which are very attractive for those vehicle's perspective buyers.

John for you and your GTC, Tier A1 is .00200 but you must (I mean must, zero rehash with the MBFS) auto approve at this tier. And its not entirely fico driven as MBFS uses its own scorecard blend to generate these approvals. I am sure you will hit this number; then sign up for auto pay on the contract and they will reduce the rate to .00190 (you can cancel autopay at any time). But the key is not only to focus on this rate but also on the sell rate. The .00200 or whatever it is- is called the buyrate and the dealer can still markup that rate and make what is called dealer reserve on the lessee. This number can easily be in the thousands when dealing with cars of this price so make sure to always ensure that your customer rate is the same as the buyrate.

I have yet to see an adjusted rate on the GTS even on those 16's with 10 grand trunk money. The factory usually will just give money in the trunk (not disclosed to the customer) and allow the dealer to play with this to move a unit that has been sitting. I do think there is trunk on the 17's but dont see any special MFS.

And there is nada on the new GTR's/GTC's etc but of course
