I went with Suntek Matte on the body, and Suntek Gloss on all carbon (on the carbon the suntek and xpel looks pretty much identical; i could have gone either way there)
Pictures after completion would be great. Cost around $8K?

Picking it up today or tomorrow and will post some photos here. They're doing a few things but i think the clear wrap would have been around 7500 by itself.

I should have updated.

My cost was $5200 to wrap the entire car(no windshield), have everything ceramic coated (CQuartz pro), including rims, and all chrome badges replaced with black badges.

NJ. But, I do get a discount because of how much work I give them (they are working on 2 of my cars this week) how much value it equates to I don't know, as every shop sets their own price

Correction: the full wrap (including the windows) will be $5800; the rest is for creating the pattern for my racing livery, refinishing my helmet to match, and few other custom vinyl pieces.

A bit late but here you go!
Wrapped in XPEL Stealth. You can’t tell the difference. But if I had to point out a difference, there’s is a slightly more matte appearance with Stealth, so it actually enhances the look.

Here’s the car without PPF. XPEL Stealth really does not change the look!

I haggled between three different companies and had the whole car wrapped in Xpel Stealth on the matte surfaces and Xpel Ultimate on the ‘glossy bits’, for $5,000. Plus I spent an additional $350 for Clearplex.

Can someone with a few thousand miles on their GT comment on whether the area where the arrow is pointing will get road debris damage?

My GTR doesn’t have any damage there because it’s protected by PPF. Any painted area should be covered if you’re paying for a whole body PPF install, even an area that might not see too much debris and isn’t normally visible.

You really have PPF all along that panel, where I’m indicating with the arrow? It’s not part of the XPEL kit for this car.

Crawled under the car yesterday and you are correct; there is no PPF protection in that area, even though I was assured that ALL painted surfaces would be covered. *******s! lol

To answer your question, yes, the paint will be damaged by typical road debris in that area, particularly in the flatter areas under the door sill below the side skirt. It is impossible to see without getting the car on a lift or crawling under the car however.

I have the front and rear sections covered, but not in between. My installer is going to add pieces there at no cost; but it will be tough to cover 100% of the area without a lot of custom work.

@Surge
attached is a picture from when my PPF was done on my GTS. You can see the part at bottom not yet wrapped under. It reaches under some, but not all the way to under trays, so some “painted” area down there is still exposed.

I personally believe after inspecting that area on my car, it is pointless to worry about having him go back in there and do.

BUT-if you must, I strongly urge a full decon, clay, and light polish prior to the install in that area.

Thank you guys for the info and posting these pics! I went on the forum for suggestions on PPT for my incoming 2020 GT63 in Selenite Magno. This was exactly what I needed to know and the pics were a bonus. Now I just need MBZ to release the 2020 63’s and I am good to go....

Most definitely will get road rash there.

Not needed at all. I feel you have to draw the line somewhere. I had 11k miles on mine and it was literally perfect. Areas prone to chipping are covered in the above pic. When I clean my car. I always use a creeper and wipe down the entire outer underside. This is also good for inspecting for damage or anything else of the sort. My feeling is if I were to worry about chips there. Then what's next? Start putting PPF on suspension and under carriage parts? No one would ever see any of that unless the car is on a lift.

That looks good, do you still have the car and if so how has the film hold up?
