GTR on The Grand Tour
Just saw episode 2 of this season's The Grand Tour, where they review the GTR. Aaaaaand they didn't love it. I mean they recognize its undeniable performance. But the hangups were that the car isn't all wild and drifty and an angry beast that devours tires and that AMG purposefully held back power from the engine in order to come out with an even faster version (Black Series). So Clarkson was like... why even bother getting this car when you know a better one is on the way. Which makes sense on the show, but in reality everybody knows they aren't going to make that many Black Series so they'll be even harder to get. Anyway, they put the GTR around their track faster than an R8 V10+, GT3 RS, and Nissan GTR. But slower than a 650S and AM Vulcan.
The show is about entertainment and it excels at that
Regarding Clarkson's 'blah' critique of the GTR, Susman (above) nailed it. Pure personal taste. He'd probably prefer a tuned GTS.
