Auto start/stop in GTR?

Been watching some vids on YouTube from a guy with a GTR in Europe and it seems like his car automatically shuts off when at a red light. Is this feature on US versions of the car? And can it be disabled?

It is standard; it works incredibly well, and yes it can be disabled after the initial start-up.

Good. Seems like it would be a pain in the *** if you're stopped on a hill. I'm in San Francisco... there are lots of 'em haha.

There is a hill hold function. Depress the brake after coming to a stop initiates it.

I have a GT-C and based on my dealership's AMG trained service tech, the function can not be deleted while the performance selector is in either Comfort or Sport mode... the stop/start does not engage in Sport+, Race or Individual modes... believe me I tried to have it go away... In the owner's manual it clearly states that the function is there for your fuel economy satisfaction...isn't that nice....

Fuel economy satisfaction... in a track car. Great.

I am currently out of the country so can’t be 100% sure by driving the car, but I’m almost positive in the GTR it can be disabled even in C mode.

It’s a great car on hilly terrain. Just come to a stop; apply slightly more pressure to the brake pedal and it goes into hold mode. Even if the engine ‘cuts out’ it will almost instantly restart when you touch the accelerator and away you go; the car will not roll back.

It’s a standard feature in all Merc and BMW cars. My daughters CLA has it. Press button on the dash to disable it.

Theres a button on the right bank next to the shifter with an A. This deactivates it.

Just setup an individual mode exactly the way you like.

And there is the deactivate button on right as well.

Here you go... I have this in my cars and I hate it. I disabled it and both my Range Rover and Porsche and they remember my selection. I don’t have to disable it every time.

I obviously mis-spoke regarding the button for deleting the stop/start feature. what really took place at the dealership was that I wanted the feature to be disabled permanently under any performance setting... that was the challenge... In my M-Sport 535d there is a small button under the start button that you can push and the start/stop feature is defeated as long as the button is in the disabled mode.. it does not automatically reset itself after shutting the car down... In the GT-C, if you have pushed the button to de-activate the feature and if you stop the car for any reason, you must remember to push the button again to defeat it again !! my way around this annoying issue is to drive the car in Individual mode 90+ % of the time and then I don't have to be irritated by the feature's engagement....

The manual says the feature is disabled in sport, sport +, race, and if you create an individual preset. So if you're in Comfort mode, then yeah it is active.

Probably not,as it is an EPA thing and MB would not be able to use the better mileage numbers if you could permanently disable it.
