RPM Question for all AMG GT Variants...
Driving around, I've noticed that I have to take my eyes off the road for a second to see when I'm approaching 7,000 RPM's which is the redline. You are hauling a** no matter what gear you are in. RPM gauge isn't the easiest to see as well. Mainly, because where the redline starts the view is basically obstructed by your hands. Unless you want to move/reposition them. The tiny little green up-shift indicator is lame. I miss the heads up display in my C63 S. I know there is a fuel cutoff to protect it from over revving. Is there an easier way to do an RPM check? What do you do?

If I want to drive in manual-mode, then due to the power/torque delivery of the v8, I find its not that critical.

I'll second xbox. Using S/S+ is the best way unless you want to have a little fun rowing your own gears. In Mexico situations, I am in S+, downshift using the paddle to be in the right gear, pound it and let the AMG engineer under the hood do its thing.

I have the GT/C Roadster and do find the revs come up very quickly... I'm in Individual paddle shifting almost 100% of the time and have bumped the fuel cut-off a bunch but I am learning to be more sensitive to the 7,000 rpm range... the issue is that the torque really doesn't seem to be dropping and you think the car is just going to keep on pulling... then ya hit the limit... I don't get that the 488GTB pulls upward of 8,500 rpms (twin turbo) so I think there's plenty of room for the M178 engine to stretch it's legs a little further... software !! on another note, while I was not in favor of the rev lights on the top radius of the F12 Ferrari steering wheel, I would love to have something like that on the wheel of my GT/C..
