sure, but I didn’t want to believe you! JK.
In the DOG, there’s an area that makes mention of this and that it is excluded when the carbon package is selected. I deducted that I should have it since no carbon package. I am waiting for my manual so I can’t comment specifically but a friend mentioned that the gtr manual is a bit of a cliffs notes and that made me think it’s a supplant to the general GT manual.

Besides think about how funny you look to others standing in a store parking lot looking like you are kicking your GTR in the butt.

I’ve had the car for a week. I’m in the learning mode wanting to learn every thing about it. I have to know. That said removing the frame didn’t work!

The GTR manual is a typical new car manual, not a ‘Cliff notes’ version.

I got zero manuals w my car. The dealer has ordered them. Which makes me wonder what else is missing.
I got the two yello vests, the screen behind the seats, ashtray, the empty manual holster, first aid kit, trickle charger, and a piece of irregular plastic looking to be a front plate mount. Anything else missing?

Cyberorth -- Is the empty manual holster to which you refer the netting behind the driver's seat on the bulkhead?

SCOTT

He is talking about the leather type case the owners manual is stored in. That case on the GTR is stored behind the seat. When I had my GTS E1, I put it in the netting in the rear fender cargo area on the drivers side.

no it’s the same thing that all cars come with and is usually stuffed with the manuals. It’s a separate piece.

Whats the use case? Drivers frequently loaded up with shopping bags and groceries?

A touch point would have been far more practical - on the 718 you just touch the model badge.
Figured a bump to this thread might help all of the new owners we have had the pleasure of attracting recently.

And also mention that I've used this feature no less than 50 times in the last year when loading and unloading cargo from the read of the vehicle. It's also literally the only reason I've yet to install an aftermarket difuser.

In all honesty on my roadster I do use this feature but its not really useful as it only unlocks, not like my SL where it would open the trunk fully, if my hands are full I still need to put stuff down so I can fully open the trunk.
Is it different on the coupe?

I see what you mean, and no, it just pops it open a bit to open it manually. It still super handy when I don't want to fumble for the keys, because my hands are full, as I don't usually have an issue opening it up all the way with a finger or two.

No there are no motors on the coup to power open or close the hatch.

For those who keep trying with zero luck, If your car was not ordered with this trunk option then you don't have it, trust me. Give the VIN to your dealership and ask them to check for you.

Good Luck

Congrats with the car btw; gorgeous. Get it protected with PPF ASAP.

If you have the carbon rear diffuser, like with the exterior carbon pack, the kick to open feature does not work.
