Cquartz on Matte paint

Has anyone done cquartz on matte paint? I am planning on doing a PPF. I have done cquartz on PPF on a non- matte paint but am not sure about the matte paint.

So first of all I'm sure you know that you need to have a 'matte' PPF placed on an OEM matte painted car. The last thing you want to do either on the OEM paint, or a 'matte' film is to place a CQuartz product on top designed to enhance 'glossiness'.

Now if CQuartz makes a product specifically for matte painted cars, then I expect it should work fine on a matte film. But please check with your installer first, including having a trial piece placed on the car and then treat it with the specific ceramic coating product. If you decide to go with Xpel Stealth, send an email to the factory as they are great about answering questions quickly.

Thanks for your reply. I will ask them. I don't want to increase the glossiness of the matte paint.

There are ceramic coatings with Matte sheen. They put it on my Black Matte Wheels.

You have to have matte/ satin film or the car will go glossy. You can put wax or so called coatings on the film. It does make it a little more glossy but it isnt extremely glossy. I put it on the nose sometimes to make bugs was off easier. but never on the hood because im afraid it will cook it and give it a permanent stain. Try to understand, that the film it to protect. It does a good job. IT DOESNT NEED ANY MORE HELP. Put it on, leave it alone.

I'm thinking the same. Get a PPF and leave out the ceramic coating. I don't know what a ceramic coating does on top of the film.

On a normal, non matte film, having a ceramic coat on top of the PPF is an excellent way to keep bugs, sap, etc from damaging the film if those contaminants aren’t cleaned off quickly. Plus it makes it even easier to wash/keep clean.
