Driver side view mirror...

I feel it blocks the diagonal left view the way Mercedes has placed it. Making a left turn I usually find it hinders/blocks the vision of cars standing on the corner to also make a left turn. Does anyone else feel the same?

Thanks for your input...

The side mirrors suck. They both block visibility. But,who checks what’s behind them? I’m always looking forward

I have difficulty for looking at cars coming straight through the intersection on my left when I am making a left turn. It blocks the view tremendously. Especially at times when you are watching out for people who don't stop at the light or stop sign.

Agreed. They just seem huge because of the driving position and proximity to your eyes. They need to be a little smaller ; they block your vision at the base of the A pillar . In combination , it creates a pseudo blind spot .

Agree, I have yet to adapt to the mirror locations. I love the car but it is hard to see what's going on around it!

Agreed and takes some getting used to when making left hand turns as you amentioned. Combo of thick A-pillar and wide mirror housing.

Are the side mirrors larger in the GT/GTS/GTC cars? I don’t think they’re too bad in the GTR tbh.

I haven't seen a GTR in person yet but the GTS mirror seems larger than the 991 GT3 and 458. The Huracan suffers more from rear view obstruction.

Maybe it's also the GTS' thicker A-pillar that makes the mirror size more pronounced?

I don't find them bad in the GT C but my height (6'4") may have something to do with it. That said, from my sightline, the rear view mirror takes up a large piece of the middle and passenger side of the windshield visibility and if I am first at a light, the roof blocks my view of the light itself, unless I creep forward and peek out the roof. Not complaining though as I'm happy with the room and comfort in the seat itself.

Yes I can imagine that problem also. You just need to stop a couple of car lengths behind the crosswalk, I guess.

I am 5'10" and have played with the idea of moving the seat up to come over the initial angle of the left mirror but I don't like that position of driving. Not a big deal but it is annoying when I don't have the view of the left traffic coming at me

What I find disconcerting is when someone passes me on the left (yeah, it happens), I'll catch their reflection in the corner of my eye, and because the mirror is so large it looks like they're coming right at me.

I'm also 5"10" and have the seat low and back. It's a combo of both factors, in other cars with a more upright seating position the driver's mirror doesn't obstruct as much.

My issue more is with the blind spot if you are at a stop sign or so turning left. It's looking over to the right. The 'A' pillar along with the mirror right next to it, obstructs the view of the oncoming vehicle. This to me creates a fairly decent sized blind spot. I inadvertently pulled out in front of a car because of this. Now, I'm extra careful and more cognizant, because of that specific incident.

I never thought there was a problem until reading this thread. But after reading the thread I tried to see what the problem was. And I found the solution! Just move one's head slightly and the problem completely disappears!. Like magic!

(I was reluctant to share the solution. I was thinking maybe I could patent the technique first since it is so unobvious. But the humanitarian in me got the better of me. So I decided to share and let others enjoy.)

Hahahaha. I smell sarcasm.

Before i bought my car , i had heard complaints about visibility . I haven’t had a problem but i had noted that the combo of mirrors and A pillar could block your vision but i learned i could avoid it by turning my head slightly and moving it forward. It became a non issue. So i didn’t see what all the bad press was about.

Frankly, the short windshield is a bigger visibility blocker when driving if I’m looking for passing helicopters or planes. Looking forward , no problem even with the long bonnet. It seems to drop away from me in my sitting position.

In my GT, I have chosen to have the seat in its highest possible position. I am about 6 feet tall. For me, it helps me get in and out easier, see over the hood easier, and see around the side mirrors better.
