Took the GTC to autocross.
Hi all. The other day was my first time flexing the GTCs muscles. I used to occasionally do autocross with our Corvette and the one shortcoming with that car is at slow speeds in turns you strive to get drive traction to the ground. To my huge surprise the GTC has NO issues with getting power to the ground. It also is very fast in autocross. I turned one of the fastest times and was not really pushing the car but a couple times. That leads me to another experience. With the Corvette if I pushed it beyond the tires abilities in a tight turn often the car could REALLY loose control. For the GTC it simple slid out a bit till the tires got a grip again. It was like wow the car is so well ballanced that it was not going to give me any big surprises.
Now bare in mind this was autocross with the car set at sport +. I did not have it in race.
Next month well take it to the road course up at the Corvette Museum and see how it does there. If its anything like autocross it will be a lot of fun.
PS the engine cooling fan system stays on for a LONG time after you race the car. I would say 10 min. Was kind of surprised. I suspect it is to cool the turbos so they dont fry your hood.

No we brought the car with 2000 miles used so the driving school is not included.
I was looking king in the manual for a way to cinch the drivers seatbelt like you can in the corvette. I don’t se a way. Did I miss something? It would be nice to ratchet down the seatbelt.

Makes me wonder with all of the new ESP systems. How I would have done back in the day with the RMR/PCA - (Rocky Mountain Region/Porsche Club of America). Once a year, there would be an event called Icekhana on Georgetown Lake (frozen over) up in the mountains. It was laid out and setup with pylons and whoever made it around the fastest without spinning out was the winner. Everyone, including me, would create/make a homespun solution of various ingredients. We would spray on the tires for extra traction - lol. If memory serves me correctly, it was dish washing soap and corn starch and who knows what else I put in it. After a cold day on the frozen lake. We then all headed into town for beer and brats afterwards. Good times for sure.

Yea I read about the parking brake. Book said to pull release when you push park button to keep parking brake from engaging.
