ha thanks..
I know the Gt2RS is faster than a AMG GTR ... it's twice the price.. 5 seconds around a 4 plus mile road course.. as tested here is $330k (without mark ups..Im sure they are going for 400 plus).. vs a $170-190k GTR)

WTF do you keep posting never having driven a GT or a GTR ??
#28
public forum no? Also I’ve spent about 400k on AMG cars and about 150k on non AMG cars. With referrals we’ll over 1 million. I think I can be part of any conversation regarding AMG/mb.

Look, you can compare resale value when the GTR Black series comes out, cars appreciates or retain value well due to rarity, and often has very little to do with performance.
The SLS Black series got blown away by the AMG GT R by any performance measures but still worth more than MSRP today because it is a limited production model.
The "regular" GTR is not as limited production as the Black series, GT2 RS or GT3RS.......

No reason to get hostile it just shows your immaturity. You don’t see me talking to people like this just because I don’t agree with them. When I was putting really bad people in state and federal prisons they were all treated fairly and with respect. You should try the same.
That’s rich.
Again, just to post negative commentary on a car that you’ve never been in is a felony lol. Let’s put your *** in forum prison.
Who cares what you’ve owned.
If if you really want to drill down on AMG, the GT car is their 1 car.

aren’t you the guy that posts on rennlist. Do you own a Porsche? You don’t, but Ok for you not me? I’ll stop with the negativity when MB gets back to building quality cars and standing behind they’re product. When cars aren’t sitting at dealerships for weeks and months waiting to get fixed/parts. I can go on but you get the idea. Sorry the facts hurt, but deal with it!

Definitely not as limited as the Black Series, but I’d say likely more limited than the GT2RS or 3RS. Those things seem to have flooded the market, especially the 2RS. I’m also with WhiteBlack, the 2RS is just ugly. I’d much rather have a 3RS just on looks alone.

This guy trolls this board periodically and spews hate (masked as blah blah blah). What I did ages ago was put him on my ignore list. Then when he wants to move his bowels here I don't see it. Nice feature. For anyone who want to do same, click on your name at the top right, user control panel, edit ignore list and type in TD33. Problem solved.

I've put a few others on the ignore list as well. Of course some of the board members may like to play with him and poke the bear and listen to him fume, fulminate and growl.

They did 7:04. When they do a full lap under 6:47, then it will officially be faster than the GT2RS.
Maybe one day they'll rent out the track and get a lap without traffic. Maybe not. The GT2RS has already been dethroned anyway.

Also, its a GT2RS..super special and rare, like a Black series...an SLS black series has appreciated $200k so far..

right now a GT2RS is going for $400-500k it seems? A GTR is $180k and maybe in two years I bet the GTR is still $120k? lost 60k... vs spending $100-300k more than MSRP on a car? I buy cars for the passion and what is affordable.. I never understood the people that buy cars for what they will be worth in the future or just buying a discount, not a car,... we all want a good deal, but find the car you like and can afford, get a good deal if it's to be had and drive the heck outta it

Yes bad engines. Porsche didn’t screw around they replaced every engine with a new one and made customers whole.
Once again you refuse to answer my questions. Even though I’ve owned numerous AMG cars I’m not to post here. People use vulgar and hostile language directed at me for telling it how it is. I’m told because I don’t own or driven in the car I can’t post. Well I have driven a few GT cars. Nice cars like I have said in the past. I’ve stated my issues and will continue.
We both know the answers don’t we.
Do you or have you posted on rennlist?
Do you own a Porsche?
Have you ever owned a Porsche?

You bring up a great point re: the Porsche GT market and it’s ‘market adjustments’ which are rampant currently. No denying that they aren’t fantastic vehicles, but when I see ‘16 GT3 RS’ with <1,000 miles on them being sold it breaks my heart since these cars deserve to be run hard on road courses, not parked in a garage and taken out to C&C a couple of times per year.
As for the GT R used market: thus far the asking prices of used ‘18’s seems to be holding up pretty well, and if there aren’t that many ‘19 and ‘20 allocations being produced it bodes well for future residual value. Whatever they turn out to be worth I don’t give a darn as I’m enjoying the heck out of mine on a road course and around town. A brilliant car!

With that being said, I completely agree with you. Porsche has to do something to change this car flipping, huge mark ups and let people that will drive these cars buy them. I tried buying a new gt2rs and was sent packing. The Porsche system is broken and only hurting the brand. These cars are built for one thing. Drive the heck out of them.
The gtr was was also built to be driven and enjoyed as your doing.

I think the GTR is a great bargain for the performance it offers, same with the ZR1, but to be honest, out of the 4 in this video, the Lotus looks like a blast to drive and I would love to track it. If that thing was a little cheaper I might throw that in the stable and use it just to track(I think 100k is too much for it).
