Retractable/Removeable License Bracket
I live in Texas where front license plates are mandatory. Been pulled over twice for no front plate. Does anyone know of a license plate bracket that doesn’t need to be drilled into front of car? I want to be able to display my plate when traveling but take it off (don’t want bracket to be seen) when I’m driving locally. Any suggestions?

I recently had the M/B restoration shop fabricate a cool plate holder for a car that I have.. they first made a template for the curvature of the body and then cut/fabricated two aluminum brackets and attached a couple of industrial magnets. drilled four holes (two in each bracket) to attach the plate .. the unit has never fallen off the car and yet can be pulled off to show the car...
BTW - I live in NC and while most everyone understands the requirement of display but I found that registration and tag ownership is a statute, there is no state statute requiring display... so, if you have the plate in the car, showing it to the officer is all that is legally required.. just saying....
