2010 Irridium Silver MB C63 AMG Sedan
Very odd only one installed. Is there no quality control? When you watch the youtube video shots of the factory line you see them rubbing the cars down, fingering the lines and panels, double checking the fit of things...they look through the cars with an eye of precision ( I know its just for show off sakes for the filming crew when they are present lol).
They must of been running low on stock and figured they can save if they at least install only one...
I have a late 2018. I don't have any either and gotta go in to get them...

Cancelled my appointment for the screens which only cost $54 for the pair. With an estimated R&R time of 4-6 hours. I decided, I'm not into paying almost a thousand dollars for this right now. I'll take my chances. Perhaps shortly, MB may step up and cover it for 2018's. We'll see I guess. I could do this myself. Admittedly, I'm too busy and lazy - lol. The last big job I did below has me done for a while.
My dealer quoted me for 1200€ to install them since he'd have to take off the lights too in order to do it. I decided not to get it done this way, since apparently Renntech sells their own version of the screen that is easier to install and doesn't require pulling the car apart so much.
Would you happen to have a direct link to the exact part?
Thanks.

I’d like to see that also, Jerry. I checked the Renntech site but could find nothing re: cooler screens.

They have the screens but they want to install it themselves. I'm trying to see if they're willing to just sell me the screens, and yes, they aren't available on the website, it's an insider thing. I was told by the guys that PPFed my car that they have it, and Renntech confirmed it.

Ok everyone that is interested, the latest on this subject from me is that I met with my dealership senior management and they agreed to install the screens at no cost to me.
The dealer will take up the issue of seeking reimbursement from MB.
I have an appointment to get it done next week.
Best regards

In regards to the front ends, has anyone installed a skid plate / guard for the under body of the bumper or front end? Any recommendations? Im in the process of beginning to fabricate one out of a durable industrial material I am testing out.

I think you are treading on very dangerous ground.
My reasoning is that the lower side of the cars have been designed to reduce lift at high speeds.
I wouldn’t want to mess with those aero dynamics myself.

Jerry

Update on the grills from Renntech: they basically only want to install it themselves. They said it's because they need to do some "alterations", and were vague about what alterations were needed... the only way is by taking the car to them and let them do it, they won't sell the parts separately. However, their installation fee +parts was 589€ , while my Mercedes dealership was going to charge me 1200€ for this.

I’m now hoping that others with ‘18s can receive the same treatment from MB.

Jswan, thanks for the concern. Im not just going to slap a piece of material under the car and call it a day. Im going to make sure that the edges and overall design of the skid guard we're designing doesn't create additional drag or will have the potential to snag due to a flat edge that could grab. Ill post pictures as we go.

I wish you were going to be at the Rolex this weekend. Benny is going be there so we’ll swap a few lies and drink their beer.
On another note, it seems like a great opportunity for me to ask the techs/drivers about their views on the carbon brakes, brake fluid issues and tires we have been discussing here. Hopefully they will provide their insites.
US CARS - ALSO, I found out that the new 2019’s that are eligible do have the track pace capability that can be dealer activated. the techs have been toying with it. Now the question is WHY CAN’T OUR ELIGIBLE CARS BE ACTIVATED TOO? The Apple app is still not available.
Best Regards

Update up here in Canada
mine is going in Feb 5 for the screens to be fitted under warranty. I did have to buy the screens though... and we have Trackpace here as well. I don’t know why you guys in the States don’t have it.
