Identified a possible body noise and repair
Hi all. The GTC has an occasional noise you can here and I hate noises. I was prepping the car for a show tomorrow and cleaning the engine compartment and ran across a noise source. I was cleaning the panel that covers the battery and it was making one hell of a creaking sound with just light pressure.
I was able to fix this by removing the panel and applying a small amount of felt on the bottom of the panel where the fasteners are.
There is NO more panel noise. I cant be sure if it was herd on the interior but the noise it made was definitely like what i have herd inside the car.
Here are some pictures if the panel.
Panel is at top center of picture.
felt goes under these fasteners.

There was a discussion about what cars get the covers. One over battery and other over brake cylinder. It appears from the discussion they are for the gtc only.

Nope. My GTC convertible is sans cover. See photos. (I'm ashamed to show my photos of dirty engine bay in a post with Katie's!) Another interesting thing I noticed is the difference in the rear hood vents. The passenger side has a larger scoop underneath and the driver's side has a little scoop. Not sure where either sends air to. Didn't chase them down.
no cover!
look at the size of the air scoop on left.
tiny scoop on driver's side
