Anyone getting a Mid-Engine Vette?

No worries, as an offering to your great wealth of humble knowledge, I will be sure to point out either, should they happen to be aimed in your direction.

If I may ask, what do you do for a living? You seem to have an an extraordinary number of cars. I have been lawyering for almost 50 years and I am nowhere near your level of automotive experience.

This guy is a TROLL!!!
He doesn’t have any real cars and is here to agitate and create dialogue.
In your many years as a lawyer you are more than familiar with the type.
When you are no longer amused with his comments, I recommend putting him on Ignore as many members here have done long ago.
Best Regards

I had a C4 Corevette ZR1 and hated that. Year later I test drove the C6 and C7 and they just feel so damn cheap. Fast cars and a bang for the buck compared to Porsche but it does not feel like a high end car overall.

I was looking at C8 base spec and they are impressive. With 3LT package, the interior is covered with leather and alcantera everywhere. Lot’s of cool tech like front lift with 1,000 location memory, rear view camera/mirror integration, HUD & PDR.
So for about $70K, 0-60 in 2.9, 193 MPH top speed and 1.0 lateral G, this thing will outperform my Huracan on drag strip and track both. Yes, there will be one at every corner in a year or two but we have our AMGs when we want to be exclusive.

I am on Ferrarichat (A website he is on) from the days of when I had a F355. He seems to be real but I have never met him in person. I know he writes books and lives in the PA area.

I saw the new C8 in person in early September at a dealership unveiling. It is a very impressive car. Here we are in November and some of the early testers are commenting how impressive the C8 actually is. Hopefully MB is stepping up the game on the GT R in the next year or two. I believe they are with the 4matic Plus system and a number of other tweeks. I am brand loyal to MB (I have owned MBs over the past thirty years) but I must say the new C8 has me looking at Chevy like I have not look at Chevy before even though many here will still say “it is just a Chevy”.
Great article!

I'm glad someone mentioned tires, I am always amazed at how little people see to care about the things that actually keep your car on the road. Yes I am old, I learned to drive on a 3 on a tree, traction controls and power brakes did not even exist back then. I either remove reaction control completely from my keeper cars, or I find a way to disable it on cars I am not going to keep. My S class, Range Rover, and my dogs transports Jeep Grand Cherokee are the only cars I have with working traction control. My RR have Nokian winter tires, and only gets driven in the snow, I also have a 991 C4S (with Alpin winter tires it has never seen the spring or summer). I thought the best C7 was the grandsport it was the best balanced car from the factory. I have not driven a C7 Z06 on a track (I built the first RWD Gallardo in 2004 that car was crap in AWD), and only recently have I even accepted that AWD sports cars should exist, and they are not always the end all be all that manufacturers want you to believe they are. I have been at this car stuff a really long time, and sometimes I get calls to help diagnose problems from dealer service departments, when their technology cannot give them answers. They tell me I have probably forgotten what I have forgotten about cars, they are probably right. I am about to start another project, I am getting another 4C and I am pulling the crap 4cy out and going to put in a new engine, suspension, and a few others things. I need something to do until the C8 arrives.
Good luck with that 4C engine transplant in your spare time. Be sure to post lots of photos!

I took delivery of my C8 back in March. I was very impressed with performance, handling, fit/finish and technology. I tracked it couple of times and when it comes to cornering and handling, it beats my Aventador S, Cali T and AMG GTS.
I really liked every aspect of the C8 but not crazy about the side scopes or the rear facia and when an offer of $15K over sticker came in, I sold it. I have a convertible on order that should be here in couple of months.

The new corvette is so much better looking than the past models, but that was not a high bar to start with. IMO they are on the right track with the styling but they need to smooth some of the jagged parts and start COMPLETELY over with the interior ... like the man above said ... you can not unsee it after you have been in one. I still can not see me buying one ... but the 10000 foot pole is getting shorter.

BTW my wife wants a Cali T for her next car since the children are old enough that the SQ5 is not used much anymore. The funny part, for the same 90-110K that people are paying for the new vet you can buy a really nice Cali ... maybe not a T ... but she would never know the difference ... or maybe a nice gently used Huracan Spyder (if such a car exist). Me, I'll stick with the GT roadster for now.

I am very excited to see the looks of the Z06 and Zora, but not excited for the flat plane whine.
