My subwoofer just started howling at full volume whether 5he stereo is on or off! It sounds like a connector has come loose on the amp. My dealer won’t have a loaner car until Thursday and I will go insaner if I can’t find the fuse for the amp. I looked in the manual and there is no chart of dudes nor is there one on the fuse box! Does anyone know what fuse goes to the sub amp?
its hard to believe it will be Thursday before a major dealership has a loan car available.

 

They’ve had the car for three days and still can’t figure out what’s wrong! They are not inspiring confidence. In the mean time I’m suffering through a C300!

They’ve had the car for three work days and have no clue on where the problem is! If I took three days to solve a problem I’d be looking for new work!
They also can’t duplicate my squeaking brakes. I can’t get them to not squeak! So far they are batting zero!

I just got an update after making four calls and getting promises of a return call and not receiving one. They say it’s frayed wires and it will take a few days to repair! A few days to repair frayed wires? It took them three days to figure out what it was and now they want more time? That is pitiful performance in my book. It isn’t that hard to fix a car stereo. I fix broadcast systems for a living and would be on the street if it took more than a day to get back on the air and these guys take a week to diagnose and repair a car stereo! When you write a check for $180k you expect competent people to work on it! Let’s see if they actually fix it and if it stays fixed! Thanks for listening!

 

Outside looking in, if the wires in question are part of a harness, which most of that stuff back there is, they will be replacing the entire harness, not simply patching up frayed wires. So it could be that it simply will take them a day or two to get the part from wherever its coming from then throw it all together, hence the 3-days.

 

Finally got it back after 6 days! They repaired the wires not replace the harness as the harness is not available according to them. They also replaced a tweeter that was damaged by the short in the
amp wiring. So far it is back to normal. It’s amazing how much you miss a car when you are forced to drive something inferior! The C300 is a perfectly fine little car for most but once you get used to a GTC it is a feeble attempt at a car! The mpg was only 3 better than the GTC when driven hard. It really doesn’t like to be pushed! The poor little engine screams like a three year old and is less powerful than one!
thankfully, my baby is back where it belongs and the stereo is no longer howling!

 

Excellent! Yeah the harness would be quite expensive and labor intensive to change so it will be “unavailable”. Glad it’s fixed! The C is definitely going to be a huge difference....

 

Was this the standard Burmester or the High End?
