Battery weight

Has anyone weighed the main battery? I know it’s a lithium battery, but I wondered if it was similar in weight to the Liteblox 2.8kg (6lb) battery I have laying around from my M3. If there was a 20kg (45lb) saving I’d install it.

Being a Li battery that is smaller in size than a traditional lead acid battery it is obviously much lighter than the norm, but whether it’s as light as your M3 Li battery is questionable.

But perhaps better questions might be, what is the capacity and cold cranking amps of the two Li batteries.

Don’t worry, I spec’d this battery very carefully when I bought it as I needed it to run my air con, lights etc all day, it could start a Mack truck CCA-wise. It’s also the battery listed for the GT, saved a huge amount of weight in my E92.

Very nice. From the picture on the MB website of the GTR, ours looks substantially larger.
