Tracking the GTS with CC brakes (Alert)
I have been tracking my 2016 GTS since I obtained the car in late 2017. The car came equipped with the CC brake option. I am an advanced driver with a couple of HDPE groups. The car has performed outstanding over the two years and has certainly lived up to its mission to take on the Porsche 911 GT3 and other HP GT cars. I was fully aware that the CC brakes may need replacing and understood the expense. The problem with the front calipers is that they wear the pads unevenly. The first time this happened the factory warrantied the front calipers claiming leaky pistons being the cause. Now it has happened again and the factory has declined to do anything. Perhaps due to the fact that they know I am tracking the car or it only has 8 months of factory warranty. I have never seen or experienced this type of extreme wear from any type of brake pad or system. As a result the now worn out internal surfaces that the pads mount into is grooved and will not secure the pads. When they get hot they clack and click coming off the a hot lap and sometimes let out a loud "ping" as the pads attempt to re-seat. At the time I purchased the car there were not any iron replacements available for those specific calipers. This is the forth vehicle I have had with CC brakes and have tracked them all hundreds of times. I just want share my experience. To my knowledge MB has not differentiated This CC brake system on any of the GT models from the now defunct GTS up the the GTR pro.

I was warned by a mechanic at the Academy that the inner pads wear at a slightly higher rate than the outers, and hence I am super paranoid about checking wear rates; but I’ve never read/seen tapering like that.
How are the rotors?

PS: post this in the actual AMG GT area as you’ll get far more comments within the GT forum.
