Dyno numbers on my ‘16 GTS with Pure Turbos Stage 2 (Very disappointing)
I have been wanting to post about this for some time now but haven’t got the chance.
So about a year ago I picked up a beautiful CPO ‘16 GTS with only under 6k miles. The car is super clean and has almost every single option ($157k sticker). I started my project just a few months later. I took my car to SSR and my car was done and ready for pickup by the end of March.
I installed:
Pure Turbos Stage 2
Catless DP‘s
Golabworx Tune
Upon startup the car sounds very nice and beastly. I was expecting a huge power increase on the ‘butt dyno. The car felt very strong but did not feel the huge increase I was expecting.
I was told by Pure Turbos and my tuner to expect around 650 whp with the crappy 91 California gas we have here.
It took forever but finally about a month ago I finally got the chance to do some runs on a local dynojet.
I had extremely disappointing numbers. Only 566 WHP and around 604 torque. Those are numbers on a car with no turbo upgrades. Only catless DP’s and a tune should produce those numbers. Horrible.
I really was expecting around 650, I’m about 100 hp less than where I was expecting. I am not running meth but I may do so if needed.
I need to take my car back to SSR now and need to have them check for any boost leaks as well as the wastegate to make sure I’m getting the maximum boost.
What do you guys think is wrong here? What needs to be done? If I would of known that with the 91 gas I would get such poor numbers I would have never gone with Pure Turbos and I would have gotten the same numbers with just catless DP’s and a tune.

I've seen dyno of a Eurocharged car make ~675whp with those turbos and 93 octane so the numbers Pure gave you sound right for 91 octane.
Hopefully someone can help you with a good mechanic in SoCal.

Most Pure Stage 2 turbo cars make peak power at ~7000rpm. You car seems to be making peak power at ~6000rpm.
I am definitely not a tuner or mechanic but I was guessing something with the ignition system based on those two things.

As usual, no matter the thread topic, you interject with a worthless comment about DA CANYONS. You might want to send a memo to Porsche, AMG, and other manufacturers that more hp doesn't make your faster.

Yeah tell that to Lotus when lightness makes you faster everywhere, more HP just makes you faster going in a straight line.
Oh sweetheart it seems Pure Turbos do their tuning on a roller dyno...Dynojet

Thread starter went to a dyno day. You told him not to tune on a roller dyno. He didn't say he tuned on a roller dyno.
Then you posted something about Pure turbos tuning on a roller dyno. Pure turbos isn't a tuner. They manufacture turbos. Different tuners use different kind of dynos. Precision Tuning and Eurocharged are tuners. You can get an Eddy Current dynojet that simulates load. Or you can use a Mustang Dyno. Or there are other dyno models/companies. They are all still "roller dynos."
I'm about sick and tired of your nonsense dude. You are completely clueless.

No one is going to be able to figure out what's wrong with your car over the internet.

Lighter with equal horse power is always faster but you know better...
