AMG GTR depreciation
I have a friend who is dying to get his hands on well priced no stories cars and it looks like only one passed through the auction from his perspective in that range - and there is a single car retailing at 125K out in Jersey by an independent. Id want to know a lot more about it - its WAY. underpriced. Outside of that, all the other cars around it (that I can see) are asking in the high 130s to mid 140s. There is typically about $10K in margin in this kind of car in the used space.
Manheim hasn't been a great source for cars over the last few months and especially during Covid, - when they finally opened back up the wholesale bids were exceeding the retail market. In some cases that is still holding true - cant really see how this is sustainable. And, with supply currently exceeding demand with mfg backlog i think there is still a couple of more months with 'wonky' pricing. That said, it seems to be more of a sellers market than a buyers for quality cars.

Assuming the prices will move more once bad weather sets in and some of these go into storage...
But honestly, does it even matter? Especially for how few buyers will ever know this ahead of time, or care to pay the 20k euros for it, when there is a nearly identical option for much less?
I wanted the wider hips and knew about the steer assist and I was familiar with it from my 911 TTS. The car I found had CCBs and knew it was a bit of an oddity with what was out there. Once I found out its largely the GTR I was very happy...In fact, I didn't even know the C stood for Competition until someone posted it recently. MB did a terrible job explaining what the C actually is. Even car people that I respect thought that the C stood for Convertible! I knew that wasn't the case but until that post I didn't know what it was.

they have listed two gtrs on and off same mikes same price months apart
off and on market
i asked my buddy what are they doing, he said it’s just what they do but don’t even have the cars there
plus, the more expensive one has more miles and less options , don’t believe everything you see. I can screenshot my text message asking if anyone doubts lol
The watch market perplexes me. I watch the Rolex market and the sub continues to be out of control - a 3 year old Hulk is $20K in the used market...I remember them being discounted at the Rolex store because they didn't move when the they first released them. Comparatively the DJ 41 with a better movement (that is in the new Subs) goes in the pre-owned market for less than retail. And virtually the same watch as the sub with a Tudor branding goes for 1/3 of the price.
And, now back to our regular programming

The AMG GT values are going to go up guys! Mark my words, and let's talk in 5 years!
The 992 911 is a bore - I couldn't wait to get out of the one I test drove. The next gen AMG GT will be platform shared and electric...
In 5 years, everyone will lament the first gen GT as a "classic", the last of the breed. And people on the forums will be regretting selling theirs for way below current values.

You're right about Porsche. The 911 just doesn't give you the feels like the GT cars do.
