2021 GTC Electrifed?

I have a MY2021 GTC on order that I ordered last fall. It was actually supposed to be a 2020 but AMG quit building all GT's on 1/31. My dealer told me to expect it to be exactly like the 2020. I've read where the 2021 AMG models will get EQ boost tech but he claims that is not true for the GT until they go with an AWD drive train. What is everyone else hearing?

I would think the 2021 would be exactly like the 2020 since they say the BS will be a 2021. I think late 2021 is when they would introduce the all new GT as a 2022

That is what I was thinking also. Is the BS always produced in the last model year?

To my understanding it always has from the CLK, C, SL. The only one im not sure about is the SLS. I think there was a "final edition" with a carbon hood etc that might have been after the BS but it was the same model.

The 2020 was just freshly refreshed, so I can’t imagine them discontinuing this generation so soon. It’s a bit surprising they they’ve paused production of 2020s so early in the year; maybe it’s due to an oversupply on dealer lots. I’d expect them to make more 2020s this year too before switching to 2021, which should be the same.

I’m not sure anything will change for 2021 MY...

Up here in Toronto and across Canada there are still plenty of 19’s available for sale and the inventory of 2020’s is stagnant. Given that MY 20’s where on the road here in July 2019, I would expect that with the existing inventory that we likely won’t see 21’s until at least summer of 20 possibly later. But if you want to know for sure ask you’re SA because the DOG is the best source of information. When I worked for Benz the DOG had updated pictures of the 2020 consoles months before the public launch. Ask to see the 21 DOG. 😎
