'16 AMG GT S // new owner
Hi everyone,
I was looking to replace my M4 with something more special and fun, and between a 911 and an AMG, I went for the latter.
I'm picking up an Edition 1 GT S on Saturday, iridium silver, with black interior and black wheels.
Baby is coming in a month, but that is covered with a Maserati Quattroporte GT S, and since a rear-facing seat was a PITA for the M4, I decided I might as well take a 2-seater for my personal car.
I intend to commute to work (currently 25 miles each way), weekend canyon and alpine pass hunting whenever I get the opportunity, and even the odd track day if I start getting bored with my S2000.
I'll need to get winter tires come October/November, and I'm considering an Android Auto box install to make the commutes a bit nicer.
I've been lurking quite a long time in the forum, as I was looking to get a W221 S65, but went for the Maserati in the end.
Really useful stuff here; I hope I can become a contributing member.

So in love with the car, and so annoyed at swiss weather in June. It's been raining non-stop so had minimal chance to really get to know the car, but I'm really loving it so far.
It's a huge departure from my M4 - this thing puts a lot more power down a lot better. The balance is great, the car has a great feel to it, and I really like sitting so down low.

I think the first thing I'd like to do is actually put in a matte carbon brace behind the seats to match the rest of the trim - has anyone tried DIYing it?
Regarding Android Auto, I think I'd like to give COMAND a bit more time, I'm slowly getting used to it.
