HVAC not working

Hello everyone,

My climate control panel is not working. No lights, not turning on. Also have message “Malfunction” with a picture of a car above it in center cluster not sure if their related. Anyone ever run into this issue?
I can access controls of HVAC through the wheel touchpad. Every setting I change reverts back and nothing happens.

I checked A/C fuses 18, 19, 20. They are good. I’ll replace the HVAC control module to see if that does it. Thanks.

On a somewhat related note, when I press the Recirculate button I don’t really hear anything different. Is that normal? Perhaps the valve that closes to prevent outside air from coming in is not that close, so you can’t hear it?

This ended up being a faulty HVAC control
module due to flat/low voltage battery. Thanks for the lead in the right direction Plutoe. Replaced the part but still needed Star diagnostic programming for proper functioning from my local MB dealer was $100 in labor.

The “Malfuction” center cluster fault code was faulty right rear transmission mount. Part list $800 + 2 hrs labor.
