PPF on Rear Diffuser

PPF on Rear Diffuser

Is it ok or appropriate to ppf the rear diffuser on the amg GT cars? My installer says the exhaust can get hot and melt the adhesive so he recommends not to.

I clean the car almost weekly, but 1.5 years and 4,500 miles later still holding up fine.

2020 McLaren 720s Spider

It shouldn't be taking any stone chips, so the issue you might have is those swirls and spider web scratches over time (worst case) - Id be more inclined to ceramic coat it to protect from that. its bulletproof against that kind of wear and wont be affected by heat from the exhaust.

Yeah, i think i will just ceramic the rear diffuser.

uh...he said rear diffuser. that part of the car is prone to dust, but 100% not prone to rock chips.

I have the carbon diffuser too and put XPEL and ceramic on it. The PPF has not melted due to the heat. The carbon trim does not get hot. The actual exhaust is inboard of the tip, the tip you see is just decorative. It doesnt’ get that hot.
