Bulb type on interior lights

Newbie question

Want to change the bulbs on the interior lights to LED
And was wondering if anyone could tell me what type is needed (holder or ratings etc?)

Want a natural white light so...

Thanks in advance

This is what I used for the overhead lights. Makes a huge difference. Why these cars come with amber is beyond me.

Thanks for posting this. The yellow lighting is so ugly. I was just searching on here for a solution.

So who knows how to remove the panel? I’m messing with it now and getting nowhere.

edit: I figured it out. I’ll post pics later.

Just get canbus compatible LEDs. Super Bright LEDs dot com sells them. I used them in my Bentley and no failed light warnings.

If anyone was wondering in how to install these dome light bulbs, the whole light console just pops out from the back and hangs there once you pry the tabs in the rear corners.
Then the bulbs are just unscrewed and install the new ones. Sorry if the pic is not that great, it takes less than a minute to do these. Now on to the flood lamps.

Helpful info...thanks!

When you say flood lamps, are you talking about the two lights in the bottom of the rear view mirror? These are also puddle lights and one of mine is out. If you do these, please post up what was involved as I'd like to get the bad one back up running. I think they also work as a map light. That part works, but it is the low level puddle light not working on the driver's side.

No I was talking about the foot level lights, havent thought about doing the map lights tho but now i will look into them as well.
I dont think those can be changed to LED's as they are voltage regulated as they are dim in normal mode and brighter when turned on. I think they will flicker if changed to LED.
As far as yours not working unless you turn them on with the switch, I cant help you as that might the bulb, but then again I dont know what type of bulb is there whether its a doble filament 194 or some special bulb MBZ uses.

Interestingly, I just took another look at the map lights under the rear view mirror with better lighting. It appears now (2017 AMG GT) that only one of the two map lights is also an interior puddle light. Only the passenger's side is. The driver's side I first thought might have a bulb issue doesn't have a small light projector lens like the RS Passenger's side.

Anyone see this too, just to validate what I see? Assuming both 16/17 MYs.

TBH I haven’t paid attention if both are on. I was just going with my other cars and I assumed both were.
Will have to check later on. I don’t think they would of changed it from 16 to 17, but who knows.

Only the passenger is supposed to act as a puddle.
