Parking Brake not engaging

Hey Guys,

Checking to see if anyone else has had this problem. So since yesterday my parking brake wont engage. I come to full stop and press "P" but the car wont go into park. I have to either turn the car off or open the door, for the parking to engage.

Any thoughts?

.
I actually had this issue several months back. Happened only 1x and disappeared after turning it off while holding the brake and turning it back on. Several months later, I had a series of (unrelated) differential lock issues and the dealership found the park error codes while trying to fix the differential lock issue. They replaced the shifter module.

I would take it in and have them look into those codes.

Definitely have it looked at. Pushing P initially sets the transmission to locked. Then opening the doors in P (or with the engine off even if you don't push P) also sets the electronic parking brake. Sounds like your issue may be the transmission or electronic.
