Value Of GT R PRO Going UP?

Purchased a very low mileage pre-owned GT R PRO late last year have been keeping an eye on the U.S. market. Since then seems the asking prices have been creeping up. Did a search on multiple car websites and currently only eight cars listed for sale. All having low or delivery miles only. Lowest to highest listing price is $ 205 - 250K with an average of $ 224K which is over MSRP. I purchased mine well below that and in line with asking prices at the time. Yes the PRO is very rare with only 150 units making it to the US. But in all honesty I never expected to see this trend and assumed it would depreciate accordingly. Rarity aside I can think of several other potential reasons for this but would be interested in any thoughts........

One of the biggest reasons is that a PRO is running very close times to the BLACK at almost 1/2 the price.

I think the PRO front and rear spoiler design is much more suited to the overall car design.

We know that it is possibly the last high performance traditional crank motor with The flat plane crank motor on the way out to replace it.

The last is the exhaust “note” with the cut out open that is now eliminated from future production.

Having said that, I am looking forward to what Mercedes brings in future years.

Covid prices have everything all jacked up. Will be telling to see what prices look like after prices across the board settle back down.

I always hear people saying " i should have not sold my old Mercedes or my old Porsche or my old Ferrari, or i can go back in time i will buy this and that because they don't make cars like those anymore. Well...i believe we're back in time again because all this beautiful low production V8 cars will not be produced anymore in a very short period of time, maybe about 5 years and with that comes the opportunity again for those who can hold on their cars because many of them will be very desirable. Boys will always want to play with best toys

I do think the Pros are not suffering the cataclysmic depreciation the non-pro models seem to experience probably due to the limited supply. I've been tracking regular GT Rs and Pros for some time (looking for that lightly used unicorn in the right color) and except in a few instances, don't see market prices dropping off for the Pros. No claims that the listing below is 100% up to date, but it does give a sense of where the market is.

great info, and thanks for sharing! My search from a few days ago shows the following asking prices on the eight cars I found from current listings. As mention, all with very low or delivery miles only. I also found an outlier with much higher mileage; (4800 mi.) and listed at $ 185K.

- $ 217,900
- $ 214,899
- $ 209,900
- $ 247,999
- $ 215,000
- $ 204,995
- $ 249,900
- $ 231,995

True, but I can't fathom such a pitiful ownership experience of these fine machines, so I don't buy those cars, nor do I worry about the value of them, as my cars will always have mileage on them.

I dont think its limited to the pros, or GTRs for that matter. I bought a GTC March 2020 for $104K, I could sell it tomorrow for $125K.

I have a friend who owns a dealership that took in 2 2018 GTCs a month ago. One didn't make it to the showroom floor before it was resold and the other lasted 3 days. Both were decent builds (neither with CCBs) and they sold north of $125K

Like I said it’s similar for lots of “low quantity” production cars. 911gt3 prices are also going up.

all good points. I also think what's coming down the line in the way of fully electric and hybrid drivetrains is also driving the market for current and best of last platforms. The 2022 GT will now share an all new architecture with the SL and base models will be four cylinder turbos. Rear wheel drive and transaxles are also gone and replaced with 4Matic across the board (no thanks!). For the first time the SL will now have a back seat aka Porsche 911, so does that mean the GT will as well?? All things to ponder and for me I'll be keeping my PRO.

Here are the last two 2020 GT R Pro models that sold at Manheim dealer auction. As mentioned, not limited to the Pro models, all the GT's back to 2016 are stable or increasing.

All you're seeing is a small lack of used cars because of COVID, the 2021 cars are now coming into dealers which means the 2020's will be discounted and on their way out. After that normal depreciation will happen. There are 142 R's and C's on Autotrader. Supply is there and the Manheim prices give an accurate price as to what the car is worth for a "write a check for it today" The car is still a great value and should stabilize on the bottom end in 2022 when the R is discontinued and we see exactly what the SL brings to the new GT platform.

I don't believe that statement holds true with the Pro models as noted in the OP. The dynamic undoubtedly changes as you move down the list of exclusivity. I only see 24 Rs listed on Autotrader, however, the asking prices don't lead me to believe they have necessarily become collectible in the face of electrification, etc. I've also noticed cars nearing the $200k price range tend to move around through different dealers and listing prices can shift dramatically. One Pro model that I had test driven moved through 3 dealers in 5 months with list prices ranging from $178,994 to $210,541 which more than likely reflects opportunistic thinking vs. a shift in market value.

If I had thought I could get an allocation for a BS I would have toned down the KM and traded it in (if the value was going to be OK). Soon as I realized I had no hope for the BS all bets were off haha.

Eurocharged Tune went in yesterday. Tikt roll cage is being made as well.
