Engine check light on

Engine check light on
Hi,
My engine check light came on today (yellow engine check light). Does it usually show any message? Cuz mine did not and initially, I was not able to turn on/off the idling button (ECO start/stop). After I restart the vehicle, I was able to. However, the engine check button did not go away (although the car drives fine). Is there anyway to know the underlying issue? I guess I have to take it to the dealership...

You should be able to have an ODB-II reader plugged into the port under the drivers side dash (it’s next to red hood release) and have the code read, no need to go to dealer for getting the code read. You can pickup a code reader or you could go to oreilly/autozone and let them read the code for you - they typically do it for free.

either get an in-expensive ODBii reader to see what code was thrown -
or most parts stores will do an ODBii read for you. If you car us under warranty go to the dealer, if not try to find an independent Mercedes shop, they are a lot cheaper.
