So you don’t think people will charge extra for a stage 2 tune and don’t think people would want to sell you other stuff on top of it to make like that’s the thing you need for that last power boost? You mean people would not do this because?? It’s called upselling. You absolutely don’t need downpipes for power off of a tune. Secondary cats are non restrictive. Getting rid of them does 2 things. It will allow more sound and pollution to go through and it’s a little lighter in weight. But they rob so little power, taking it off is more problematic for smog then it’s worth in a power increase. As far as the video is concerned, you should listen to the entire thing. It’s educational.

I also own an ‘18 Macan Turbo. There’s aftermarket’tuners’ out there: intercoolers, CF intakes, high flow filters, BOV’s, Cobb and BGB custom tunes and on. And yet, NOT ONE has ever provided a single dog-and-pony show-and-tell modified Macan with any confirmed data! But they’ll sell you their crap all day long.

So now you think you want to drop coin to buy a set of downpipes. More coin to install them. More coin to avoid the check engine light. More tricks will be needed to ensure you can receive an inspection sticker. Then more coin to find a used set of OE downpipes cause you cut your originals. Or god help you if you can’t find a used set. Why? Because no one wants someone else’s ‘tuned’ experiment when you decide or are forced to trade or sell it.

All for what? 10hp? 15hp? A whole 3% gain?

The funny thing is, the difference between a stage 1 and stage 2 tunes are the hours spent to develop stage 1 to stage 2 tunes. Eurocharge gave us 7 different versions of their tunes for our C63 v8 models. You think that development time is free?

To the OP. Sorry about where the thread went. Your answer is get a good tune from a reputable tuner. Don’t bother with down pipes. If your state has issues with them, they will do more harm than good. If they don’t care and you want more noise, have at it, but if you get the downpipes, get good ones from a reputable company. If your state has laws against secondary cat removal, I would not go that route. I just think after listening to Mr. Dinan it’s just not worth the trouble and as far as power increases go, it’s not going to do it for the amount of money you have to spend to buy them and have them installed and then possibly redoing this after you get it smogged.

You also said that I must be ok with tuners as you say acting scammy to charge extra for charging more for stage 2 tunes over stage 1 tunes. This is the last thing I will say to you about this, because I don’t feel as if I am helping anymore and just arguing with you is not helping anybody. I dislike this about forums. I’m not an expert on everything, but I do know enough with my past experience, but i Refer to guys like Steve and others who have more experiences in such matters. If I can help I will. You have not been helpful at all in this particular thread. I don’t know why, and I don’t care but just know that you interjected yourself into a conversation that seems that you have no interest in other than arguing with me. So I’m going to say it’s worth it for the noise alone. Sure it may or may not give you a few extra ponies but just listen to that sound 🤩

That’s a good sound, but loud. Unfortunately I live in the Bay Area in Northern California where that kind of noise might be a bit much for my neighborhood. Also at Laguna Secs there’s a sound limit of 90db with the sensor being at turn five so we couldn’t have cars that loud on the track, in fact the stock exhaust barely passes on the loudness scale over there.

Throw it in comfort or set up an individual setting and it’s almost as quiet as stock 👍🏼 I plan on doing a video with more details eventually
