2018 AMG GTR Track set up and track pace app

Hi ,

I'm in France new on the forum I just bought a 2018 AMG GTR Green .
I will track it so I install the TIKT rollcage .
I would like to put in place a more track focus set up on the car , have you some value for camber ect and some advice for it ?
I 'm using Michelin pilot sport cup 2 .
What about AMG Track pace app can I add this app that is not shown on my car ?

What an incredible car !!!

Adding negative camber is a must for track duty. Otherwise your tires will wear fast and unevenly, also this will improve your turn in.
There is a track thread started here with a lot of discussion about track prep.
First you will have to order additional alignment shims.
Once you have the shim and you take your car to alignment shop, preferably one that has some experience with track set ups, you basically want to max out the negative camber.
This should put you around -2.7 front and -2.2 rear.
This is a bit of a simplistic explanation you should consult a local track shop on your racing preference, experience and tracks you will be driving and determine your set up from there.

Not too sure about the track pack app. It came from the factory on my 2020. And it is a great app and provides a lot of available data. There are a lot of aftermarket apps that do the same thing and probably a bit better. But track pace is built into the car, uses the main info display and is easy to read at speed.

The track app wasn’t available on the 2018 GTR in my experience. I tried to get it installed since it was in my config buy MB went deaf with no explaination.

ALSO, from what I read here on the forum you really need to install the brake cooling vents that Tikt and others have available. Several here describe in great detail the benefits to your pads, rotors andbrake fluid.

Please pay attention to buying the right brake fluid too. Apparantly the stock AMG fluid doesn’t stand up on the track.

Be Safe

Jerry

TiKT brake ducts are fantastic.

Actually, in the GTR you could add a number or TIKT parts to improve your track experience. Some phenomenal suspension setups. I have these in my garage but haven't added them yet. Uniball Spherical Bearings - https://www.tikt.de/en/tuning/amg-gtr/suspension

Seat and Harness will help as well as I find the seat (at least the one our Canadian cars came with) isn't that supportive. Euro spec was much better in this regard.

Enjoy the car man

... and I'd say are a must-have if you're tracking the car. Search and you'll find other such comments and even some data which confirms the instrumented videos generated by TiKT (search YouTube).

I use MOTUL 660 in my GTR and it's fine (and easier to get, here, than Castrol SRF).

Great to hear that you plan on tracking your GTR. You should look up the thread "hard track use upgrades" it has pretty much all the info you are going to need.

If you have steel brakes then the most important thing you have to do is brake ducts IMO. Tikt makes a great set.
