Yellow knob things on shocks?

I feel dumb asking this question but what the heck are these yellow knob things? I've never seen anything like that before and can't find them in the EPC. They're on both sides of the front suspension but not the rear. When I had the car lifted up (suspension unloaded) I could move each knob right and left. With the car on the ground, they don't move. Are these spacers for the ride height? Are they supposed to be there?

Car is a 2020 GT R.

This is the result of lousy dealer prep
These are transport spacers from the factory. If you’re wonder why your car has a stiff suspension, they are the reason.

Simply remove all of them by pulling on the flat end. Do it slowly so that the string doesn’t break off the clip.
Or drive back to the dealer, have them do it and request a free A service for the hassle

Thank you!! I suspected something was off with the flimsiness of these pieces. Glad I saw them before going to the track next week. And thanks for potentially saving me from a bad situation!

Hi,

You wrote a 2020 GTR. Its build in 2019?

Just out of personal interest, how many mls does the GTR have and how many inspections has it done?

Kind regards

Stenzel

Yes, built March 2019, sold to the prior owner in September 2020. I assume it was inspected at time of sale but I don't have paperwork. It was repossessed by MB 3 weeks after it was sold and then put up on dealer auction with 24 miles where it was bought by a non-MB dealer. I bought it from them June this year with 29 miles on the odometer. I had a MPI done by an MB dealer local to them. I asked them to be very thorough - they obviously didn't catch this. And then had it shipped out to me. I've put 1000 miles on it since then.

I had the same issue when taking delivery of my car except I knew The car had very little suspension travel lol. When I went back to the dealer I confronted the tech and he just looked at me like **** off.

They were easy enough to remove. Just lift up the car until the wheel is in the air (no weight on the suspension) and, as Wolfman said, just pull. They pop right off.

The ride is a bit smoother, though only really noticeable if you hit a pothole or something. I haven't noticed a ride height difference so far, but we'll see if it settles a bit over time.
