Super cool car- However, I have no use for it. If I lived down in Carmel maybe but if I were going for a special car limited edition car I'd probably go for something else. That said I have been thinking about retiring while I am still fairly young and in shape and racing on an amatuer but I'd also want to be able to do rallies in Europe so this wouldn't work either.

I'd be interested in hearing from someone who legit was going to get one to track it regularly.

TPUSMC : I don't think you will hear from anyone being only 55 will be made, but maybe Soulsea will get one to flip.

Fellas - spoke with my dealer and they had no idea how to go about getting one (I am in Canada). I see in this article it references an online ordering system? Anyone know where or how to go about speaking to someone on this?

Thanks in advance for any and all info!

Direct sales from Affalterbach
Worldwide sales of the Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series is being handled from Affalterbach where Mercedes-AMG has its headquarters. Customer delivery of the special edition starts in the second quarter of 2022. The list price of the Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series including air conditioning is € 369,000 plus VAT. A spare parts starter set, seat and helmet ventilation system, drinking system and passenger safety cell are available as options. Further equipment options are available upon request.

I would speculate with only 55 units being built, the factory would be selecting (inviting) individuals and/or dealers to an allocation based on some loyalty formula and not just the first 55 people (or dealers) who rush in with the cash to buy one.

So...if your phone is not ringing, then.......

Yeah, you might not be wrong but being a track only car I was curious if it would have high demand.

I’ll keep plugging away and see if I can get responses.

I would think too, that AMG would want these 55 units in some high visibility real track use and not just purchased to sit in someone's garage or get flipped like some of the BS series cars did. That would back up an argument AMG would be selecting the buyers with invitations.

BTW - I might not be right, but I like not being wrong...LOL...

That’s the part was hoping for. I have 30,000km on my GTR Pro and a lot of that is track - 3 different ones I spend time on. Not sure a more ‘used’ Pro exists haha.

Someone lend me one of these invitations!

Maybe get pro-active and have your dealer call MBUSA and make a case for one. Have them describe you and how you would intend to use it. Maybe you could at least get on a consideration list, especially if you're not already well known to AMG. Maybe you are already, but 55 is an awfully small number. I hope it works for you.

Agreed. Thanks man. Not well known I don’t imagine. Bought a few cars and am on a list for our second g63 - but I’m sure nothing compared to a lot of folks. Live in a relatively small town as well.

Perhaps if you bought an AMG GT4 race car you can get one.

It would be interesting to see the areas they achieved weight savings… that are not so obvious. I was surprised to find that I saved 51lbs swapping out the stock seats for my GTR pro with the amg Recaro seats that come factory on the car OUS (and that includes the weight of the factory Schroth harness). There’s probably close to 100lbs to save if you remove the thick abs heavy sound deadening material throughout the interior.

Pointless car IMO. Will get sold to 50 idiot speculators who think they're going to make money on it and probably don't even realise its not road legal.

I am not a speculator. I would track it instead of my GTR pro…

Also, my mom doesn’t think I’m an idiot.

I mean why would you choose this over a GT3/GT4 then? No logical reason to do so in my opinion.

I didn’t know that was an option to be honest. Also, figure the running costs of this would be cheaper. Not sure why i think that.

aaannddd the HP.

But your question/point is valid.

My feeling is running costs will be same as GT4. Will require the same level of consumables and support, not sure on servicing requirements. Car will be worthless once used as its not eligible to go racing with. Its also twice the cost of a lightly used GT4.

If the HP is important you can probably just remove the BOP from GT4 and you'll be there anyway.

Having run a Porsche Cup car as a trackday toy I'm at least moderately experience in this game. I

I was looking at GTR GT4s for a bit when I had a possible sale for my PRO. Were a few on racingjunk.
Think I am going a different route now that my number of track days are way up.

Now that I have a membership to the new Rocky Mountain Motorsport track plus other events, I am going to be around 20-30 track days.
Way too many track days for the PRO.
I test drove a RUSH Auto Works car, and I did not really like it. I had considered maybe a radical, but track days are a bit more limited.
Because I am half retarded, I want to build a car out of a 3rd gen Camaro something very similar to what Detroit Speed has done.

great article!

It says the Track Series uses the GT4 race car's chassis which looks like:
