Transmission Oil Cooling Malfunction

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all well.

I was driving earlier tonight and got stuck in a traffic jam at some point 20 minutes to my destination.

At some point, I saw a message that said "Transmission Oil Cooling Malfunction" and saw my transmission oil climb from the 87-93 degrees celsius range up to 100+ degrees and a maximum of 106 before I shut it off for a few minutes.

In the morning, when the car was cold, I had a "check coolant level" but another thread showed that it could have been due to the cold as I am in Toronto and it went away once the car started warming up. This evening I had this issue and it does not go away. I am also aware of a similar thread for the GTR Pro with this issue. Still, I was wondering if anybody here is able to provide me with any details, such as perhaps a manufacturer defect or any other possibilities before I head to the dealership tomorrow. This is in my '16 GTS Edition 1.

Thank you for reading!

PS: This morning, I had a Pfaff Tuning in Vaughan, Ontario install my Renntech EVM. It was tricky for me and even they took an hour somehow. Aside from installing the EVM in the passenger footwell fuse and coming across this issue, whenever the passenger door opens and closes, the light above the center console flickers for some reason. It flickers even more upon closing than opening. Please let me know what this could be. Thank you.

I had the same issue - the problem is very likely to be the pump that pushes coolant around the gearbox - the part was about £250 and quite an easy fix for the technician. That would be where I would start to look - when the pump was removed it was really easy to bench test it to show it had/was failing.

Hi have had the same issue. Fitted a new pump and all the temperature readings are ok. But the message is still showing up. Mercedes have told him to look at wiring issues to see if that will clear it. I'm losing no coolant and oil temperature is good, and car is running fine
