Aftermarket Wheel Advice 19/20 v 20/20 v 20/21
Hello All,
I am leaning toward an order for a set of BC Forged MLE 81 wheels and I'm stuck on the sizing. The push is to the 20/21 setup which of course will look good but thinking about tires and ride quality? This wheel has a stepped lip which I like but it does make the inner wheel look smaller and the stock 19"s in the front does look small to me even without a lip. Is 20/20 all around the sweet spot? Let me know your thoughts.
Current: 16' AMG GTS 19/20 cast twin-spoke wheels
Drive about 5-6k a year on decent roads, no track just spirited driving on streets.
Lowered on KW HAS
Quoted: BC Forged MLE 81 20x9.5 265/30/20 F and 325/30/21 R Michellin P4S
The weight of the 20/21 BC is about the same as the stock 19/20 cast so not much there.

Thank you!

Depends what you want out of your wheel set. Ideally, you keep your stock set if you intend to track, and use the 20/21 set for street. Regular everyday driving isn't really noticeably different in terms of ride quality, but some people are more 'princess and the pea' like and will tell you differently.

When I had my previous GTS I had a 20/21 street set up, wasn’t anything worth reporting as far as “less comfortable / more harsh” than the factory 19/20 set up, the bigger set up was a little more eye catching too.
BUT, if best performance is your goal, stay 19/20, as the performance and r-compound tire options are superior in those sizes.
